As Policy BootCamp '26 celebrated its 10th edition, Rashtram School of Public Leadership, Rishihood University proudly unveiled the official Policy BootCamp Anthem—a tribute to a decade of nurturing public leaders committed to building Bharat. More than a song, the anthem captures the spirit of every delegate who has walked through the corridors of Policy BootCamp with curiosity, conviction, and a commitment to public service. It celebrates ten years of meaningful conversations, transformative experiences, lifelong friendships, and a shared vision of nation-building. For a decade, Policy BootCamp has brought together aspiring policymakers, civil servants, entrepreneurs, researchers, and changemakers from across India, equipping them with the knowledge, values, and leadership needed to shape the future of governance. As the anthem echoed through the Convocation ceremony, it became a celebration of every idea debated, every challenge embraced, and every leader inspired over the past ten years. This is more than an anthem. It is the voice of a generation that believes in leading with purpose, serving with integrity, and shaping the future of Bharat. Here's to the next decade of inspiring ideas, courageous leadership, and transformative public policy. #PolicyBootCamp26 #PBCAnthem #10YearsOfPBC #DecadeOfImpact #NationBuilding #BeAndMake #ViksitBharat2047 #FuturePolicyLeaders #Rashtram @shobweet | @SahilAgg92 | @chitti_1729 | @basu_saurabh | @AbhishekRanga_ | @YashowardhanT | @RishihoodUni

Rashtram School of Public Leadership, Rishihood University, in collaboration with @Rupa_Books , organised the launch of "The Curious and the Classified: Unearthing Military Myths and Mysteries" by @ManojNaravane (Retd.), former 28th Chief of the Army Staff. With a military career spanning over four decades, General Naravane brought a wealth of experience to a conversation that went beyond battles and military operations. The discussion explored the human side of military life from the everyday challenges faced by jawans at bone-freezing altitudes to the traditions, stories and humour that help soldiers cope with the pressures of service. The panel, featuring Nitin Gokhale, Strategic Analyst & Founder, Bharat Shakti; @ShivAroor, Managing Editor, NDTV; and Prof. Shobhit Mathur, Vice-Chancellor, Rishihood University, with Neelanjana Banerjee as moderator, explored the human adventure stories, experiences and realities behind the uniform. The conversation also touched upon a changing Indian military, where Gen Z soldiers are bringing new attitudes and approaches, calling for more adaptive and responsive leadership from commanders. The conversation also highlighted the importance of preserving military history through the lived experiences of veterans and commanders, their difficult decisions, setbacks, uncertainties and stories that often remain beyond the official record. Because to understand the Armed Forces is not just to understand battles. It is to understand the people, experiences and stories behind the uniform. #TheCuriousAndTheClassified #GeneralManojNaravane #IndianArmedForces #MilitaryHistory #Defence #NationalSecurity #Rashtram

𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐚 𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐱 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞? As Shri Ambuj Sahu explains, the Chinese market is one of the most difficult for foreign films to break into. Yet Dangal offers a powerful example of its ₹2,000+ crore global earnings, roughly two-thirds came from China. As India’s economy grows and people’s purchasing power increases, Indian stories can begin to resonate with wider audiences across the West, the Middle East and China. But cracking China may require more than the sheer power of our stories. It could also benefit from greater cultural and diplomatic engagement between the two countries. Could India and China explore opportunities to create space for films that are culturally significant and resonate with audiences in both countries? Imagine an Indian film like Kantara or Baahubali finding a wider audience in China. Cinema could become an important bridge for India–China cultural exchange. When AIMIM chief @asadowaisi recently commented on Prime Minister @narendramodi receiving Uzbekistan’s highest civilian honour, he sought to make a political point by describing Uzbekistan as “the very country from which Babur came to India.” But the claim gets the history totally wrong while completely missing the larger context of India-Uzbekistan relations today. Reducing Uzbekistan to a footnote in Mughal history erases the much deeper and older civilisational connections between India and Central Asia, while failing to account for the strategic, economic and geopolitical interests that underpin the 🇮🇳-🇺🇿 relationship today. I examine these questions in my latest article for @CNNnews18 ⬇️ news18.com/opinion/opinion-o…

Dr. Pratishtha Mukherjee explores the fascinating journey of Nalakuvara, a character rooted in Indian traditions who was later Sinicized and reinterpreted in Chinese culture. Nalakuvara is traditionally described as the son of Kubera, the Yaksha Raja, and the half-brother of Ravana. Drawing from the Ramayana tradition, Dr. Mukherjee discusses the story of Ravana’s conflict with Kubera, his displacement from Lanka, and Kubera’s eventual association with Alkapuri. But here is where the story takes an intriguing turn, could the Alkapuri described in historical traditions be connected to a region in present-day China? What if Ne Zha is more than just a mythological character and actually reflects how China sees its own rise? As Shri Ambuj Sahu explains, Ne Zha is portrayed as someone ostracised by society who refuses to accept the fate imposed upon him. He fights against the odds, emerges stronger, and ultimately earns the trust of the very people who once rejected him. That journey bears an intriguing resemblance to the way China seeks to portray its own transformation from a Communist state that faced diplomatic isolation after 1949 to an economic powerhouse that gradually opened up and reinvented itself, particularly after 1978. And as Ne Zha 2 becomes a global phenomenon, another question emerges, are audiences around the world also buying into this reinterpretation of China’s story? What happens when ancient deities and ideas are reinterpreted across cultures and generations? As Dr. Pratishtha Mukherjee explains, ancient figures can be understood through multiple lenses — psychological, cultural, archaeological, and the traditions of ancient knowledge. Ne Zha is a fascinating example of this evolution. Born under an ominous prophecy, ostracised from society, and constantly questioning his own identity and destiny, Ne Zha emerges as a deeply rebellious character — one who challenges the circumstances imposed upon him. Interestingly, this idea of the rebellious individual is not unique to one civilisation; it appears across both Eastern and Western cultures, taking different forms through different traditions. So, what can Ne Zha’s story tell us about the way ancient ideas travel, transform, and acquire new meanings? 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐍𝐞 𝐙𝐡𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦? Ne Zha 2 has grossed over $2.25 billion, transforming a millennia-old myth into one of the highest-grossing films ever made. But behind the global phenomenon lies a fascinating question, could the origins of Ne Zha be traced back to India? In this episode of The India–China Review, we speak with Dr. Pratishtha Mukherjee, archaeologist and scholar of ancient art and iconography, to explore the intriguing connection between Ne Zha and Nalakuvara, the Yaksha son of Kubera. From Buddhist translation networks and Silk Road exchanges to ancient texts, iconography, and the Ming-era Fengshen Yanyi, we trace how a figure may have travelled across cultures and evolved into one of China's most enduring mythological characters. 🇮🇳🤝🇯🇵 India-Japan defence cooperation is moving from shared strategic vision to increasingly concrete capabilities. Japan’s Defence Minister @shinjirokoiz was in New Delhi yesterday for talks with Defence Minister @rajnathsingh, with the two sides signing a landmark agreement on maritime security. The agreement will strengthen cooperation between @indiannavy and @jmsdf_pao_eng, particularly in information sharing, maritime domain awareness, and humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. The visit comes just over a month after Japan’s Prime Minister @takaichi_sanae visited India for the annual summit, underscoring the growing depth and breadth of the India-Japan partnership across defence, economic security, technology, energy and connectivity. In my recent article for @indfoundation's Chintan, I explore the broader dimensions of this strengthening relationship. I argue that the partnership has matured into one of the Indo-Pacific’s most substantive strategic relationships, built not only on shared strategic interests but also on the complementarity of Japanese technological and industrial strengths with India’s manufacturing capabilities and strategic geography. At a time of growing uncertainty in the Indo-Pacific, the India-Japan partnership is helping anchor stability. Read the full article here ⬇️ chintan.indiafoundation.in/a…

🏝️✍️ In my latest article for @indfoundation's Chintan, I examine the evolving India–Seychelles relationship and why this small island nation occupies an important place in India’s engagement with the western Indian Ocean. From centuries-old people-to-people ties to a growing strategic partnership, I look at how 🇮🇳 and 🇸🇨 have deepened cooperation across maritime security, defence and capacity building, development and infrastructure, healthcare, education and human capital, digital cooperation, and climate resilience and the Blue Economy. PM @narendramodi's recent visit, marking 50 years of Seychelles’ independence and India-Seychelles diplomatic relations, provided an opportunity to take stock of this increasingly multidimensional partnership—and its importance for a secure, stable and prosperous Indian Ocean. 🪧🗣️ The right to peaceful protest is one of the defining features of a constitutional democracy. Equally important, however, is the principle that no movement or individual is above the rule of law. In my article published today in @DailyGuardian1, I argue that the Supreme Court, in the aftermath of the recent CJP protests, has rightly distinguished between peaceful protesters and those with criminal antecedents. Protecting democratic dissent also requires holding those responsible for criminal acts accountable. Ultimately, questions of criminal liability must be determined by the courts—not through political negotiations. The right to dissent is fundamental. So too is the principle that no one, however "viral" their movement, is above the law. ⚖️
