Anyone know what the probability is of 2 neoprene cycling gloves turning almost completely inside out after being in a washing machine (with a spin cycle) for 30minutes?!
A fun blog from our team and partners with a real potential to increase the places we can use SLAM with our devices whenever you've on the move in vehicles!
What if we could make our time spent in cars more productive, social, and entertaining than ever before? That question is at the heart of our partnership with @BMWGroup—and today, we’re sharing a look at our joint research that leverages #ProjectAria and #MetaQuestPro tech.facebook.com/reality-la…
Really looking forward to seeing folks at #CVPR2022 - we'll have an intro to #ProjectAria and look at the new research it enables!
Ahead of #CVPR2022 , I’m excited to share the open dataset of Project Aria data from Meta Reality Labs, along with accompanying open research tools designed to accelerate AI and ML research. about.facebook.com/realityla…
A little about the dataset and why I think it’s so exciting…

@AjdDavison for the record, going to state this was the tweet made when I'd realized the problem with simple parameterized models. (Not the first to realize this, but what came next was our work).
Wordle 235 4/6 mine and @DoctorJRo first wordle together!

It was my privilege to spend over a year geographically colocated together with @DoctorJRo, I miss her and the opportunity for everyday talk.
A decade ago I was very fortunate to explore the edge of real-time 3D computer vision, with a new class of consumer depth camera, GPUs becoming easy to program, and an aim to build 3D reconstruction and SLAM technologies that enable AR/MR. Thank you
@ismarconf and all!
Thank you for the Lasting Impact Award at this years @ACMUIST - it is a real privilege. It was brilliant seeing the KinectFusion co-authors at the plenary. What an incredible period 2010/11 was!
The Lasting Impact Award plenary is starting in 10 minutes! This year's award is going to "KinectFusion: real-time 3D reconstruction and interaction using a moving depth camera". Check out the original paper here! microsoft.com/en-us/research…
ICCV'11 was already so memorable with Steve and @AjdDavison and the @imperialcollege Robot Vision Lab - this is the icing on the cake for a super fun and productive period of research, inspired by real-time SLAM systems (and demos) of brilliant researchers before us. Thank you!

Facebook just did a giant Turing Test with the entire audience to see if we could tell the difference between an original video vs a 3D reconstruction.
It was REALLY hard to tell the difference
Quite a stunning demo.
The shadows on the left was the clue to me it was the real 1.
