Earlier today range.cash and all app subdomains were down for about 6 hours. Everything is back. Full transparency on what happened:
The outage itself was mundane: an automated OS security update restarted our web server overnight and a stale config blocked it from coming back. Fixed in minutes once caught.
But while investigating, our logs also showed something less mundane: tens of thousands of brute force attempts hammering our server, nonstop. Someone has been trying hard to get in. We are responding by locking the infrastructure down further today: key only access, tightened firewall, uptime alerts.
Now the part that matters. RANGE is non custodial by design, exactly for days like this. Your funds live in your wallet and in pool contracts on chain. Our servers never hold a single token, so there is nothing there to steal even on the worst day. Downtime hits the dashboard, not your positions. The indexer never stopped, no data was lost.
All five chains are back online. We build like we are being attacked every day, because apparently we are.
