Here is a new low after I updated my apps to be the best version ever and localized my apps to 8 locales and updated all screenshots with new design and same 8 locales and did another round of ASO.
I’ll keep creating apps as they are fun but this is the reality of app making for 99% of devs I’m assuming.
Still remember when @joebelfiore introduced it. Too bad the ecosystem can’t catch up. If only it were introduced in vibe coding era.
Livid after visiting Sam’s Club for the first time. I thought Costco was getting worse with longer lines at the counter until I visited Sam’s Club. What a dumpster fire.
- customer support doesn’t care, we came with a flier with a discount that should be valid in store and online until Jan 31, they told us the store has ended the promo so we wasted a hour in there filling our cart only to be told their own official flier are no longer recognized. One front desk agent and two store managers said they can’t do anything and one even said the flier probably not from their corporate. They are ok with me reporting to FTC and CA attorney general for their false advertising. (Why would they care?)
- the selection is worse, the entire cold section is too cold with leaking freezer air
- the aisles are smaller, there are boxes left behind everywhere
- their price is higher than Costco. (Eg they sell two store branded purified water at $8 and $4 which is not only confusing and more expensive than Costco)
Why do they even exist?
This is so great. The ingenuity behind the company is the independent thinking behind everything they do.
I also made a touch native editor a while ago but since I’m not an avid writer yet, I am still holding it. Maybe I should add some AI and write more…
For years, maybe a decade, I've wanted to build a writing tool that just did a few things I couldn't find anywhere else.
A system that mimicked how I think when I write. A system that provided clear affordances, features, and places to do the things I wanted to do. A way to play with my writing as I'm writing it. A way to settle into just the right way to say something.
It never made sense to make it a 37signals product because it's not commercially viable, nor would it be worth pulling people off their other work to hack on this. Plus, it would have taken months the old way.
So this weekend I just made it myself, with Claude's help.
It's called Write_On and the short video walks you through it.
Essentially it's "alternative control" at the word, sentence, and paragraph level, plus a way to dim stuff back, and stash stuff near by. Not version control, but alternative control. You'll see what I mean when you watch the video below.
So here it is. Write_On.
Main take away is these US retailers are offering a less competitive product. Just like KKV will be taking over miniso in five years. youtu.be/QoHX1zHHTZs
Need some Sunday reading? Just added iPhone Duo to my readable Apple Human Interface Guidelines.

Insane. Opus 5.5 is making astra like 3 months behind.
The Opus 5.5 Splatoon-inspired Game is now open source on GitHub!
Enjoy!

Great speech! There are programmers who enjoy manual coding and those who care more about the results. The latter will still struggle to produce work that meets the bar, as the bar is now being raised forever. I used to enjoy coding manually, and I still do, but I simply stopped because I get to enjoy shaping the work 10x more...
Tesla service is now at my home rotating tires and cleaning the front camera. First time having an at home service but it makes so much sense. If you can have your technicians drive around instead of customers, that’s definitely a much superior experience, increase the service frequency as well.
It’s highly integrated with the Tesla app of course so you have an Uber-like experience from service request to cost estimate to arrival notification.
