ALT Watermelons grown through solar-powered irrigation in rural #SouthSudan.
The #Rainmaker farm in Tonj, #SouthSudan, has reached a huge milestone - our first successful dry season harvest using solar-powered irrigation technology.
We’re proud to see this #diversifiedfarm transforming not only the landscape, but also the diet & livelihoods of local #SouthSudanese - increasing #foodsecurity & #climateresilience as our farmers gain skills in using climate-resistant crops & farming techniques.
Our solar-powered drip irrigation system is a game changer, creating two growing seasons & providing sustainable water for local year-round farming, instead of unreliable rainfall. Through community-led solutions, we're reducing #extremehunger & #waterscarcity from #climatechange
