"Reassurance and support" seems so vague. "Hey, I'm high as fuck and totally lost, is this actually a train?" "Yes, you're on a train. Settle down, it's all good."
Transport Victoria are advertising their new "Passenger Support Team" - badge suggests they're authorised officers but webpage suggests they're there for customer service. transport.vic.gov.au/plan-a-…

this is wild to me because in a past life, I did zero exercise for 3 months and had a desk job... ...and then ran 5k non-stop on my first try
Couch to 5k programs really piss me off as a fat person that jogs because why in the fuck do they have someone running for 60 seconds on the first week of training?!?! 60 seconds of jogging is INTENSIVE for a pure beginner!!

Real talk, the fifteen emails asking for feedback after PAX make me never want to go ever again

I kinda love how the tail lights look like one of those dodgy JDM rear end conversions from 2003?
I will forever hate the faux engine sounds they create for electric cars

You'll never pass as Australian unless you can correctly answer that the VE and VL were the best Commodores, with an honourable mention to the VT.

Weird thing w/ pathological liars is they often can't admit a lie even if it would be advantageous to do so Had a friend make up a nonsense story. We eventually caught him out, he admitted under pressure he lied, and then started trying to convince us it was true again. Madness.
A big piece of missing context of You Can See Everything is that Elizabeth Holmes went to prison for 11 years only because she refused to admit in court that the technology didn’t work. She’s such a pathological liar that she tricked herself into 11 years in prison

Burned over a year waiting for a referral to come through with an appointment. This hurts people. It hurts them badly.
i don’t really like… care… ‘cos i’m on hormones so fuck them, but on a mechanical level it literally mystifies me how there can be a 7 year waiting list for a talking clinic to tell already transitioned people that they’re trans

Melbourne can't be Berlin, rent is too high and creatives don't have money
Melbourne is speedrunning the Berlin blueprint. >attract disaffected “creative” types >funnel into large but inconsequential arts sector catering to themselves >local politics defined by obsolete leftism or diaspora obsessions >net economic drain on rest of country

Australia is like my parents in that it refuses to spend money on things that would be undeniably good and helpful long into the future
whats stopping australia from copying china? i would love to travel on high speed rails rather than the slow ass trains we have.

you appreciate the bus driver for getting you where you need to go you resent the corporation that expects to profit handsomely off your ticket while sharing little of that wealth with the driver who did the work
There is something uniquely Australian about thanking the bus driver while fare evading at the same time

It is a race between two ghosts, long forgotten
Bathurst being largely invisible is a good indication of the dilution of Australian culture. Or am I just a less of a bogan these days? I feel it was a massive thing back in the day and not much of anything now.
