Extremely poor from President Musk, who ensured BYD didn’t enter the US for fear of his Tesla sales crumbling . And here making an issue out of our right for national security. A great entrepreneur but a v bitter man. Earlier went after Trump claiming his name is in Epstein files only to calm down later to ensure his business doesn’t suffer. Lol Musk.
Dear Prime Minister Ambani, Please accept my humble apologies for not realizing that you are the real boss of India. Naturally, you would prefer to maintain your monopolistic exploitation of the great people of India, but would you nonetheless consider allowing Starlink to compete? There are many areas of India, as there are in all countries, with no Internet access, which denies children the opportunity for education and for small businesses the opportunity to sell their goods to a global market. Starlink would change their lives for the better. Thank you 🙏

Mr. Musk, yes, no billionaire should dictate a nation’s policy - Indian or American. India must welcome competition in satellite internet, from Indian and global providers, whoever offers the most practical and affordable last-mile solution for those in remote regions. In countries with lower per-capita incomes, satellite internet must be affordable too. High subscription fees and equipment costs risk putting it beyond the reach of ordinary households. Connectivity must bridge the digital divide, not create a new one. India knows our networks and spectrum are strategic infrastructure, not merely commercial assets. India’s national security safeguards are non-negotiable. Every country makes choices based on its own interests. Those in the West cannot preach free markets while practicing protectionism at home. USA imposed 100% tariffs on Chinese EVs to protect its domestic industry, just as India takes measures to protect its own domestic manufacturers. Both India and the US have restricted Huawei over security concerns. One cannot demand a level playing field from others only when it suits its own agenda. Indians will internally debate, question and address our strengths and shortcomings as a democratic country. Take BharatNet, India’s programme to bring broadband to village-level local bodies. We will question why, as the CAG’s 2026 audit report found, the programme is struggling to meet its original objectives. Why were only 33.2% of service-ready Gram Panchayats operational, despite ₹39,888 crore being spent? At the same time, we know to appreciate our telecom sector and regulations, which has made internet data among the world’s most affordable, bringing millions online. India is a democracy, not a colony. We welcome the world, but we, the Indian people, will decide our own future - not Western vested interests, their double standards or any billionaire - Indian or American.
Starlink is licensed in over 165 countries and has spent five years complying with every single law and requirement of the government of India, so why still no license? Is Ambani the real boss of India?

Key disadvantages of allowing Starlink in India include: National security risks: Foreign-controlled network limits India's ability to shut off service in sensitive border areas or ensure availability during crises. Past reports of terminals with militants or smugglers raise misuse concerns. Data sovereignty issues: Laser links could route traffic outside Indian gateways, complicating monitoring and lawful interception. High costs: Hardware and monthly fees likely far exceed affordable terrestrial options like Jio or Airtel, limiting rural access. Market impact: Could disrupt local telecoms and foster over-reliance on a single US provider instead of domestic alternatives.

Streets belong to the silent majority who is busy building careers, have families to feed & bills to pay. They can't run riot, block roads and beat people up to make a point. They'll quietly queue up at polling booths and show their power through EVMs. Don't test their patience.
You may hold the power, but the streets belong to us. And it is from these very streets that we, the people of India, will reclaim our democracy. Jai Hind 🇮🇳

People in USA are not using Starlink. Why would I pay ₹8,600/month + ₹34,000 hardware for Starlink when I can get Jio and Airtel unlimited broadband for ₹500 ??
Unfortunately, we are being blocked by certain oligarchs in order to maintain their monopolistic chokehold on the Indian people. You can guess who they are … This is a crime against the people of India!

Hey Elon, why does China not allow Starlink? Is it some Chinese oligarch? China is where you are heavily invested in Tesla and yet they block Starlink. What @elonmusk does not know is that alliance with @RahulGandhi is the kiss of death in India. Clearly, Musk’s people did not brief him well. Also, the matter is bigger than mere technology and quality of service. It has to do with sovereignty issues in three ways: 1) foreign ability to decide who is denied service, especially serious in the midst of war. 2) foreign ability to influence social unrest as has happened in other countries. 3) X’s record of allowing anti-India, Hinduphobic attacks. Musk rightfully defends his own identity, and should appreciate how Hindus and Indians feel when there is blatant bias.
Thank you, Rahul. This is indeed troubling.

Starlink is available in about 172 countries/territories per its Sep 2026 map data, so "over 165" holds. It has engaged India since ~2021 (pre-sales, formal GMPCS application Nov 2022), secured the GMPCS licence (Jun 2025) and IN-SPACe authorisation (Jul 2025), built 20 local gateways, and tailored operations for Indian rules including data localisation. Executives confirm five years of work. Full commercial spectrum and security clearance remain pending. India has issued GMPCS licences to Starlink, OneWeb and Jio; all three are at the same security-assessment stage before spectrum. The Ambani question is rhetorical with no supporting evidence of preferential treatment.

So @KhajuriaManu posted a few tweets against @CJP_for_India, and they got her account withheld in India. Dear @AshwiniVaishnaw, @MIB_India, you should have a look at this. How has an unregistered movement become more powerful than the Government of India, to get an account withheld? If they have this power, they will get all the nationalists suspended soon.
