Watch carefully.. Discipline is non-negotiable for professional cricketers. Talent opens the door - discipline keeps it open. Hope players understand it.

There are two brilliant commentators at the SA v Australia game - Shaun Pollock and Simon Katich. The way Shaun described Steve Smith's wicket is what a commentator should look to do

T20 timings need to be looked at in sub-continent. At the moment, it's like a toss lottery. Win toss and chase. Hope said as much at the toss y'day. Maybe look to start the game early and not let dew spoil the game. Give both teams an equal chance

The 602 wickets are remarkably evenly distributed: Cummins 158, Hazlewood 150, Lyon 139, Starc 155.
The bowling quartet of Cummins, Hazlewood, Lyon and Starc has moved past 600 wickets today, now 602, the most by any quartet in all Tests, in the 38 Tests where all four have played. Second on the list is Moeen, Anderson, Broad and Stokes, 415 wickets in 31 Tests together.

90% of chances taken hey? …If you have the feet of a walrus and you can’t move to attempt anything remotely athletic, then you’ll probably have a fine record catching everything in your small wheelhouse. If you’ve got wings, you might as well fly. 🐐
Smith such a brilliant slipper. 90% of chances taken in his career, record for an outfielder in Tests over the last 25 years. Unreal. Graeme, that is. Steve's down at 77%, well below average.

🚨 FOOTPATH ENCROACHMENT & ILLEGAL PARKING CONTINUE — WAS ANY LEGAL ACTION TAKEN? 📍 Location: Dash Square, 114/2A, Outer Ring Road, Opp. Nandi Toyota, Kallumantapa, Banaswadi, Bengaluru – 560113 @bwaditrafficps @blrcitytraffic @acpeasttraffic @DCPTrEastBCP @Jointcptraffic @RCBengaluru @anil_lulla Following my complaint, the barriers and chains were removed from this location. However, the cement structure/wall created by welding metal components to the roadside has still not been removed, and vehicles continue to be parked in the same manner on the public footpath/roadside area. The latest photos and videos show that the problem has not been fully resolved. Removing only the barriers and chains is not enough if the remaining obstruction and parking continue. I have a direct question for the concerned Traffic Police Station: Were the vehicles parked at this location yesterday fined or subjected to any legal enforcement action? If appropriate enforcement action was taken, why have vehicles returned to park in the same manner today? If no action was taken, why has the matter not been addressed despite repeated complaints? I request the Station Inspector and senior officers to clarify: 1. Whether fines/challans were issued to the vehicles parked at this location. 2. Whether the remaining cement structure and welded roadside wall were inspected for legality and necessary removal. 3. What action has been taken to prevent repeated obstruction and unauthorised parking. 4. Whether the establishment has valid authorisation for the remaining structure and use of the public space. The issue is not merely about removing a barrier. It is about enforcing the law consistently and keeping public pedestrian space accessible. When ordinary motorists are stopped and penalised for traffic violations, the same applicable rules must be enforced fairly and consistently in this case as well. The repeated recurrence of the same problem raises serious concerns about the effectiveness of enforcement. I am not alleging collusion without evidence; I am requesting a transparent investigation into why the obstruction and parking continue despite complaints and partial removal. I respectfully request @bwaditrafficps and the senior traffic police authorities to conduct an on-site inspection, verify the permissions, take appropriate action under the applicable law, and provide a clear update. Please ensure that the issue is resolved completely, not just temporarily. #Bengaluru #Banaswadi #FootpathEncroachment #IllegalParking #PedestrianSafety #TrafficEnforcement
🚨 ILLEGAL ENCROACHMENT OF FOOTPATH BY INSTALLING A SPONSORSHIP BARRIER USING THE NAME OF TRAFFIC POLICE 📍 LOCATION: Dash Square, 114/2A, Outer Ring Road, Opp. Nandi Toyota, Kallumantapa, Banaswadi, Bengaluru – 560113 I have already submitted a written complaint regarding this issue to @bwaditrafficps (Banaswadi Traffic Police Station). This matter falls under the jurisdiction of Banaswadi Traffic Police Station. However, despite the written complaint, no effective action appears to have been taken at the location so far. The issue concerns the obstruction and alleged encroachment of a public footpath in front of a sofa/furniture establishment. It is alleged that the shop owner has installed/arranged sponsorship barriers displaying or using the name/identity of Banaswadi Traffic Police, without permission or authorised approval from the concerned police department, and has blocked a portion of the public footpath by placing barriers and chains. If the establishment has received any official permission, sponsorship approval or authorisation from the Traffic Police Department to install such barriers, I request the concerned department to kindly verify and clarify the same. If no such permission exists, the unauthorised obstruction of the public footpath should be removed as per applicable rules. ⚠️ KEY CONCERNS: • A public footpath is intended for safe pedestrian movement and not for private occupation or enclosure. • The barriers and chains are obstructing the free movement of pedestrians. • If pedestrians are forced onto the carriageway because of this obstruction, it can create a serious pedestrian and road-safety risk. • If the name or identity of the Traffic Police has been used without official authorisation, the matter should also be verified by the concerned authorities. • A written complaint has already been submitted, but no visible action has been taken so far. 🙏 REQUEST TO THE CONCERNED AUTHORITIES: @bwaditrafficps @blrcitytraffic @BlrCityPolice I respectfully request the concerned authorities to: 1. Inspect the location. 2. Verify whether the sponsorship barriers have any official permission or authorisation. 3. If no valid permission exists, immediately remove the barriers and chains obstructing the public footpath. 4. Restore the entire footpath for safe and unobstructed pedestrian movement. 5. If unauthorised use of the Traffic Police name/identity is established, take appropriate action as per law. 6. Kindly provide an update regarding the action taken on my earlier written complaint. This post is not intended to prejudge or accuse any individual. The request is simply for an impartial verification of the public footpath obstruction, pedestrian safety concerns and the possible unauthorised use of the name/identity of a government department, followed by appropriate action as per law. #Bengaluru #Banaswadi #FootpathEncroachment #PedestrianSafety #RoadSafety #CivicIssue

Wondering if I am an autodriver, uber driver or a plumber. Have been here for 21 years but never met the people she is talking of
Bangalore is the only city where your plumber might pitch you a startup. - Auto drivers ask if your company is hiring - Your Uber driver casually asks if you use Notion - The chai guy at your coworking space knows what Series A means At this point, Bangalore isn’t a city. It’s a startup simulation.

I was fascinated by the idea of migrating abroad when I was in middle school. I had heard so many “wow” stories about the sons and daughters of my father’s colleagues who had gone overseas. I wrote the SAT way back in 2003. Got multiple admits, including NUS and NTU. Everything was ready for me to migrate. But I also got admission to CEG, then among the best engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. And I did the unthinkable. I chose Mechanical Engineering at CEG over NUS/NTU. Dad went wild! At the end of my undergraduate years, I had two choices: GRE or CAT. Dad wanted me to take the GRE and leave India at the earliest. I chose CAT. I stayed back. I eventually started a venture in one of India's most heavily regulated industries. And the regulators nearly killed my venture thrice. Closing down MSE. Slashing commissions at their whims and fancies. Arbitrarily increasing net-worth requirements and questioning the very viability of my business. There were moments when I wondered whether staying back had been a mistake. The system certainly gave me enough reasons to feel that way. Yet, by God's grace, I survived. Seventeen years of running a company in India. And despite everything, I still love this country. I don't entirely know why. Perhaps it is the mananimmathi I experience when I travel through her countryside. Perhaps it is the atma tripti her temples give me. Perhaps it is the inexplicable happiness I feel in Malnad, in my Pandya desam, or in my beloved Travancore whenever I set foot on that soil and walk its paths. Priceless. Absolutely priceless. Look at where India was in the 1960s and 1970s and where she is today. She has come a long way. From confiscatory 97% marginal income-tax rates to a much lower peak rate today. From a hopelessly Fabian socialist model to a mixed economy. From waiting endlessly for a Bajaj Chetak to being able to buy a Toyota in minutes. From waiting years for a telephone connection to becoming one of the world's cheapest mobile-data markets. From mud roads to expressways. From extreme poverty — remember Kamal Haasan eating an apple that had fallen into a gutter in Varumayin Niram Sivappu — to Shimla apples being available even in village markets. India has travelled an extraordinary distance. Of course, she could have done much better. She could have become another Singapore in terms of civic infrastructure, public services and urban planning. We have squandered decades and opportunities. There is no denying that. But she remains India. I take comfort in how far she has travelled despite decades of socialist policies and political mismanagement, rather than spending every waking moment complaining about everything that is wrong with her. I can criticise India. I can demand better governance, better infrastructure and better public services. I can be frustrated with her bureaucracy and regulations. But my affection for her runs deeper than my frustrations. And perhaps that is what people who constantly compare India with the West fail to understand. A country is not merely the quality of its roads, the efficiency of its bureaucracy or the size of its paycheques. There is also a sense of belonging, a civilisational connection and a peace of mind that cannot be measured on a spreadsheet. I would rather be a small soul in a country I love than spend my life as an indentured servant in a soulless system. I had my opportunities to leave. I chose to stay. Seventeen years later, with all the scars, setbacks and struggles, I still feel it was worth it. She is far from perfect. But she is mine. She will never ditch me. She will not ask for a VISA to accommodate me as she has soul and I am her son. And that makes all the difference.
