Your users need USD₮ in their wallet before they can swap, bridge, or lend. And when they're done, they want to cash out?

"Europe's central banks want Brussels to delete a MiCA rule on stablecoin reserves. It forces large issuers to keep 60% of that money in commercial banks. Tether refused an EU license over the same clause."

There are two main reasons for the limitations of African language machine translation: the training data and the expensive compute requirements of frontier open-models. In our latest work, we are addressing both by shipping compact small translation language models as well as our high-quality training data to support future work on what is a challenging long-term goal.
The large open datasets for African languages are noisy, full of duplicates and imbalanced over languages. The few carefully curated sets are clean but cover too few languages, and human-translated sets are excellent and too small to make an impact. Every option trades away scale, coverage or quality. At the same time, the frontier open-source models are too large for the performance they provide, something we tackle with our SLMs.
Introducing TranslatePsy-AfriSLM: state-of-the-art machine translation for 19 Sub-Saharan African languages using models small enough to run on a laptop or a smartphone.
Our smallest LM, at just 0.8B parameters, matches or beats systems up to 152 times its size, including Qwen3.5-122B-A10B and TranslateGemma-27B, on 3 key benchmarks.

i have a degree in electrical engineering
i dont mess with hardware for the same reason i dont mess with linux
it’s a pain in the ass… but not any more!
i can talk to my ai harness on my omarchy linux machine out loud while i work…
and i gave it vision so it can see my circuits and give feedback…
and it can ssh into my controller and install/run code…
and it can ship prints to my 3d printer…
right here it is controlling a laser and taking test readings and telling me how to adjust the sensor in realtime…
it feels like magic!!!
reddit it’s the land of people’s voice, eu doesn’t like that apparently, not surprised
