The replies to this is one of the reasons why Conservative art doesn't really thrive. The point of this film is the slow running apocalypse of a society collapsing in on itself being confronted right at the end with a new apocalypse. Yet conservatives take it as a savior ending.

I think the thing I hate most about the overuse and misunderstanding of the phrase “late stage capitalism” is the assumption that the state will collapse on its own. It will not. It will claw for its life until we intentionally steal away our lives back.
