At @AgaraLabs I could disappear into the product for a month and come out with something genuinely better.
I could never do that with telling anyone about it.
That gap cost me more than any technical decision I made.
Agara ended well — Coinbase acquired us, and I'm proud of that.
But I know what that company was worth on the product alone. I've wondered ever since what it would have been if the story had travelled as far as the thing we built.

So I built FirstOrg. It runs the work that makes a company visible — in your voice, on a schedule, whether or not you show up that week.
The best products shouldn't depend on whether the founder is a good communicator.

Imagine still believing this in 2026???
London AI startups raised $5.65bn last quarter alone.
Recursive just launched today with $650m to build safe self-improving AI. The SECOND nine-figure London AI launch this month.
Two UCL professors just led two of Europe's largest-ever AI funding rounds.
Over the last quarter:
1/ @nscale, $2bn at $14.6bn, AI hyperscaler (largest funding round in European history)
2/ @wayve_ai, $1.2bn at $8.6bn, self-driving foundation models
3/ Ineffable Intelligence, $1.1bn seed at $5.1bn, superintelligence via reinforcement learning (largest seed in European history)
4/ @recursive_si, $650m at $4.65bn, AI that experiments on how to safely improve itself
5/ @elevenlabsio, $500m at $11bn, frontier AI voice
6/ @synthesiaIO, $200m at $4bn, AI video
UK is building chips too:
7/ @graphcoreai, $457m from SoftBank
8/ Fractile, in talks for ~$200m at £800m
LETS GO!
Absolute gold. The problem often is when sales clashes with building clashes with fund raising, you get a stop-start-stop which can take the air out of your tyres.

Coding with Claude Code for a hobby programmer like me has been such a change. It's the joy of first having learnt programming and realising you can create cool things from scratch. What a breath of fresh air.
Now one project is a full rebuild of the backend and going rather well. Largely because it has written everything from scratch. Another one, however, is modifying existing code with deep integration.
TIL there is something called Lucky Loser in tennis.
Someone who lost in qualifying but made it because someone who did qualify pulled out. Finally a slur that is not offensive!
RowBoat Labs (YC S24) builds pre-trained LLM agents that seamlessly plug into your systems for human-like customer support, faster resolutions, and improved customer satisfaction.
Congrats on the launch, @segmenta, @Akhi_Sud, and Ramnique!

TIL about the Bangalore Torpedo which was originally developed by the British Army in Bangalore during WWI to clear barbed wire and mines.
The Bangalore torpedo is iconic due to its fantastic depiction in Saving Private Ryan, but many might not know that it's still in use by militaries all around the world, and still serving it's original purpose - clearing wire and other obstacles.
