they say AGI is gonna unlock trillions of GDP but wait until you see normies using frontier model GPT-6 pro ™️ to ask for directions and food recommendations
your signals: negative alpha, donation to market makers, random-math-probability decisions
my signals: huge alpha, 15m/year, AGI-level decisions
For those who still didn't understand what Jev from @typesafeai can do, here is the example.
Jev can read dozens of structured trading signals and then show intelligent decisions.
It's time to make your system actually alive.
What a time!
guy joined training for the first time & he brought his son to watch so in sparring I let him work bcs I thought it’d be cool for the kid to see his dad crushing it
but now the kid looks at me w disgust like I’m some bitch ass that got his ass whooped I might need to change gym
not many people know this, but everytime you ask claude to code something up its basically this guy writing all the code himself at the back. when they say API is down it actually means he’s on toilet break. look it up it’s 100% true
Update: I've joined @AnthropicAI and taken leave from the university. Excited to work with many talented, mission-driven people on the defining technology of our time.
to students who are looking to break into quant trading but have no internship this summer, I highly recommend this elite program. as we all know trading is more or less similar to fighting in the streets of Kabul. I’m very close to the hiring manager so DM for more details
quant brainteaser:
Anprotic released a new AI model Bafle - Tymhos with safeguards. time goes by, and no major disaster happened caused by the model. which one is more likely:
1) Tymhos had no groundbreaking capabilities in the first place
2) Safeguards were well designed
back when I was based in Long Island working for RenTech, we had a super talented quant named Jay
first few years he made so much money. that got into his head. he started hosting lavish parties to seduce our HR Daisy. didn’t end well
since then Jim only hired married quants
this is extremely huge because J in JD Vance actually stands for JP Morgan. few people know this. thanks Rick for bringing this to attention
Just heard a wild rumor from someone I trust that works at JPM.
The buzz is that Trump has been exploring ways to force Vice President Vance out of office. He cannot fire him legally. Unless Vance resigns, the only way for him to be removed is to be impeached by the House with 2/3rds Senate voting to remove!
overheard:
“I’m long a lot of tech stocks maybe I should buy some energy stocks or other stuffs to hedge this Iran war thing”
my brother in Christ that’s just S&P500 congrats for discovering it from first principles
London Marathon is done finally. hit my PB 2:46. the grind was so tiring now it’s time to celebrate with McNuggets
see how easy it is to lie on the internet today I didn’t even go out of the house I’m just a fat fuck
was watching a video of how some ppl got affected by psychosis caused by AI chatbots. like these ppl became actually crazy. I’m sympathetic but at the same time I can’t help but to think this all could be solved if they take one linear algebra class
it’s 2026 and only now I’m getting into NN/DL (I know) for personal stuffs and so far I’m using runpod but it’s actually kinda expensive is there a cheaper setup or is everyone just burning their paycheck on GPUs
when I was at RenTech, we hired a lot of physicists, bcs a lot of groundbreaking concepts in finance came from physics.
momentum.
overextension.
volatility is like a trampoline.
Jim once said to me during post-lunch vape break: “study physics, and you will solve quant finance”
some have asked me about my time in Renaissance Technologies. although I’m retired I can’t really say much due to NDA, but I have an unseen interview snippet from my ex-colleague Nick (hope the kids are doing well mate) that I’m comfortable to share. a lot of alpha in there
I find the quality of content on QuantTwitter disappointing. so in the next few weeks, I will be sharing novel stories about practitioners/legends, resources, anecdotes & many more
to kickstart this initiative I would like to share one of the most valuable websites for quant:
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The attached screenshot has been edited to insert anachronistic references to "gstack", "Mythos", and "GPT5.4", which did not exist in 2019; the original Hacker News post quotes Nick Patterson discussing simple regression. news.ycombinator.com/item?id=190652… robohub.org/talking-machin…
to continue on this, today I’ll share a very useful AI tool that my HFT team has been using for the last 6m.
recently we combined it with Mythos and immediately received an email from CME that our alpha is too high hence exposes exchange vulnerabilities. so DYOR.

a lot of students reached out to me asking for resources to break into quant finance. thought I would compile my favourite quantfin authors so everyone can benefit. in no particular order:
1) Jim Simons
2) Steven Shreve
3) Garry Tan
4) Peter Thiel
5) Marco Di Maggio
good luck
