I'm really excited to share our recent work interfacing a quantum dot single-photon source with an atomic quantum memory, which is now published in Science Advances.

Very excited to announce our experiment demonstrating the first actively controlled recall of semiconductor quantum dot photons from am atomic quantum memory is now published in Science Advances.

Not only is this the first such demonstration of a quantum dot and quantum memory with active recall (to out knowledge), we implemented this directly at a telecommunication-compatible wavelength of 1529nm.
Many improvements to be made both on the quantum dot and the quantum memory, which is the focus of our upcoming @QuantERA_EU funded project EQSOTIC
Excellent news for us Quantum Tech folk at the University of Southampton! We have been awarded an EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Quantum Technology Engineering.

Shout outs to Dr Jacob Ngaha representing MΔori and Aotearoa in the quantum physics community!
Rising Stars of Matariki: After completing his PhD two months ago, Dr Jacob Ngaha believes he isΒ Aotearoa's very first MΔori quantum physicist.
