I deal with the god damn customers so the engineers don't have to. I have people skills; I am good at dealing with people.

It's coming right after we figure out how to wake a dual screen desktop up from sleep without rearranging everything on said desktop.
Which stage of AI do we need to hit before I can reliably eject a USB drive from a Windows PC?

My preferred approach to coding is to open up a project, ponder all the ways to improve the code for an hour or so, do none of them and lie down. I fail to see how AI could improve this.

Social media has rebirthed peasant superstition brain. People straight up hallucinate things and ascribe black magic powers to their enemies. A rumor passed around the village carries more weight than any stranger’s words.

After four years @VALORANT still can't consistently exit without leaving a ghost process sucking up a whole core of CPU time indefinitely.

Inserting ads into your product for an ad-free version of your product is some Mafia-level bullshit. Like "Eyy, nice user experience you got there, would be a shame if someone were to put ads in it."

The number of replies in this thread mansplaining C# to a principal engineer at Unity is something else.
We found a bug in our C# code. Modifying a local copy of a struct :( C# semantics are just stupid: If you pass structs you get copy semantics, if you pass a class you get reference semantics. Syntax looks identical. Also struct = stack, class = heap. Why not decide at call site?

There's a subtle irony to the fact that price and wage controls instituted around WWII channeled labor's collective bargaining power toward securing employer sponsored health insurance benefits, perhaps undercutting long-run support for a universal public health insurance system.

$100,000 of looting damage is four hours and twenty-three minutes worth of NYPD misconduct settlements.

Sounds a lot like setting up a new C++ library dependency.

Remember those halcyon days before DisplayPort when turning off a monitor didn't generate a hotplug event that made Windows move all windows off that monitor? Man those were great.
