@NUGMyanmar’s David Gum Awng said @ASEAN must clearly and decisively call out the regime’s total failure to implement the peace plan. He warned that bilateral engagement with the junta by individual member states is emboldening the regime’s war crimes against civilians, rather than applying necessary pressure. #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar “While ASEAN member states may have different views on the country’s crisis, there must be definite consequences if the junta fails to comply with the agreements. Without clear repercussions for their defiance, the regime has absolutely no incentive to cooperate,” he added. #HostageDiplomacy: How the Myanmar Junta Is Weaponizing Jailed #AungSanSuuKyi irrawaddy.com/opinion/analys…

Myanmar 🇲🇲: horrid footage captured by a PDF drone captures how two civilians were dragged away by junta soldiers in Indaw after they were killed for wandering into junta territory. A number of other civilians were detained at the same location.

1/ Personal take on the latest developments: the #US engagement with #Naypyitaw, Min Aung Hlaing's visit to #Malaysia, and what they actually signal for the resistance and #ASEAN. There's more context than the headlines suggest. This is my own reading, NOT an official statement.

Myanmar 🇲🇲: the death toll of the airstrike on Kyauktaw (Rakhine state) is now up to 49 people. The strike hit a crowded market place and vital bridge in the town, which suggests both targets were intentional.
The air strike on Kyauktaw turned out to be a massacre. Rakhine media report at least 33 killed when the bombs hit the local market. Pictures of dead and burned bodies are too gruesome to share unfiltered. Myanmar 🇲🇲

Nearly 40% of Myanmar has been liberated from the China & Russia backed military junta’s control. What began as a scattered uprising has become a solid nationwide resistance, holding territory, administering communities and fighting across multiple fronts.

This new leaked document shows how heavily Myanmar’s military is relying on conscription to rebuild depleted battalions. According to LIB 421’s personnel roster, only 43 of its 152 personnel are pre-existing troops, while 109 are new conscripts, nearly 72% of the battalion.
