World-leading cardiac surgeon Asif Hasan was surrounded by the children who received the gift of life thanks to his unerring skills at the emotional climax of another memorable Pride of Britain ceremony. 🥹
Now 70 years old, Mr Hasan has just retired after 35 years of service at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne, but just after receiving his Lifetime Achievement Award, he had an extra special surprise: a cast of patients who would not be alive without him. ❤️

Fascinating, especially for football (the real
one) and cricket lovers like me:
Ben is theoretically right but the beauty of the models is the orchestration, architecture and indexing on being able to churn out results in seconds or minutes.
Has a point on sentience. So far language has our access to sentience and that is unique about us as humans
Ben Affleck says AI is simply matrix multiplication, linear algebra and floating point calculations, and however convincingly it sounds like a person, it has nothing to do with thought, humanity or feeling
“Nor do I believe, and I think it’s important to draw the distinction between what AI does, which is simply predict the next token or the next word in a sentence, then add that word on, run it back to the machine, do a lot of computation and pick the next word."
"That is a very different thing than sentience or thought. And I think we need to be really clear about that because it can be convincingly, in an illusory way, sound like thought or like a person."
"But let’s be real clear. This is matrix multiplication. This is linear algebra. These are floating point calculations. It has nothing to do with thought, humanity, or feeling.”
Excellent except everyone in the future will have these cars. There will be no way left but for them to self regulate the traffic using an AI model placed in each of them

Our politicians have gone mad.
Ashwani Kumar must face the strictest punishment under law for Parvinder Singh Jhota's murder.
But why should his innocent parents, wife and children lose their home?
Punishing an entire family for one person's crime is medieval justice, not the rule of law.
Everyone must oppose this madness.
#WATCH | Punjab: House of the man, accused of shooting anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota, being demolished in Mansa. Police personnel are present at the spot.
The accused was arrested from Churu, Rajasthan earlier today.

Failure to rein in drugs from Punjab is the burning issue today, and will certainly hurt AAP and @BhagwantMann in the upcoming Punjab assembly elections. AAP Govt can come up with increased arrests and drug seizure data, but the bitter truth is that AAP's tall claims went bust !
The last I knew that you have to run 1500m in 6 min to be a constable in @DelhiPolice . Most of these guys appear for CAPF/Army entrance where the standards are higher. This is a fairly high for an avg Indian male. How come these guys are struggling? Are they the real police?

Our experience with Anna Hazare and the BJP has made us (or atleast me) so cynical that I am still on the fence about CJP... I would like to believe they have good intentions, but honestly, I am not entirely sure...The trust deficit is still pretty high !

One of the most striking moments outside the India-centric action at the Asian Games was seeing legendary Olympic & 2-time World Champion wrestler Akari Fujinami finally get beaten!
For those who are not aware, she was on an unbeaten 155-bout winning streak, having not lost a professional bout in the last 9 years!
In the Semis, she was pinned while trailing 0-10.
155. Just imagine! 🤯
And this picture, clicked moments after her loss, speaks volumes.

"only 2% of electrical electricians in the US are certified on DC power. "
- Ben Horowitz, co-founder Andreessen Horowitz (A16z)
AI infrastructure is exposing a very physical bottleneck: electrical talent. Moving from conventional AC distribution toward 800VDC means the industry needs people who can actually install, commission, and maintain these systems safely.
one of the most important jobs in the AI boom will end up being electrician.
