What better way to mark your 60th than climbing to the top of Mount Snowdon motivated supported all the way by your 23year old son π. Added bonus was setting off in the early hours to capture the sunrise. It was tough but I did it ! #facethefear #gratitude #achieve #believe π β at Salford, England

It's interesting that people aren't asked to take paracetamol or ibuprofen before a colonoscopy - no, they go straight to sedation! Let's see #hysteroscopy brought into line with other #endoscopies. Paracetamol and Ibuprofen do not work - I know from experience!
Wow ! This is such good news .Women have been sharing their experiences via the campaign group @HysteroscopyA and finally our voices have been heard . Huge thanks to @DrGailBusby and the team for putting womens voices at the heart of their practice. This has made my day ππππ β at Outwood, England
Our first hysteroscopy list under sedation has been successfully performed today at @MFTnhs
Our patients are very happy and so are we!
This is the result of listening to women and validating their experiences

Www.hysteroscopyaction.org.u⦠have collated over 7500 barbaric accounts of outpatient hysteroscopy. Women are being lied to about the likelihood of severe pain and are undergoing severely painful procedures. Happy to provide information.

Nope, nope and nope!! Not βscare storiesβ but facts! I was told to expect mild cramping, I experienced severe pain and my heart rate plummeted causing a vasovagal reaction (I blacked out) and this is NOT uncommon. We are all different, as you say. Iβm glad it was a breeze for you

Hereβs the pain scores in a very selective survey. My unexpected pain was way off the VAS pain chart. You must have been in the fortunate few. I tell my scare story so other women are fore warned that pain levels vary greatly.

I agree, women are all different, as is their medical history. All patients of Hysteroscopy should be heard and believed. Good and Bad. Truthful data is the only good advice. Really pleased yours was pain and trauma free, mine- horrific

'Medical misogyny' is leaving women in unnecessary pain and undiagnosed for years.

Thank you @PSCommissioner for describing the misogynistic, excruciating pain & belittlement reported by thousands of women undergoing outpatient gynae investigations with no pain relief or totally inadequate pain control. Interview is at 1 hr 17 mins bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0025wβ¦

The new WEC report "cited the severe pain experienced by some women undergoing routine healthcare procedures such as hysteroscopy, IUD fitting & cervical screening. It called on the NHS to do more to monitor & enforce protocols governing such procedures."

3 vaginal births with no pain-relief - my pain threshold is quite robusts, but I'd rather give birth to all 3 every day than go through #hysteroscopy again! To compare it with period pain is misleading and inaccurate!

Since having my OP #hysteroscopy I have met some amazing #women who truly are #superheroes campaigning tirelessly for better outcomes for women. We won't stop until we have #justice, meaningful change & until all women are safe from brutal, experimental, and/or substandard care!

Can you imagine 1/3 tooth extractions caused severe pain? No? That's because it doesn't happen. With #gynae surgery on the other hand, It's the norm! That's 10s of 1000s of women who experience #SEVEREpain whilst having diagnostic &/or operative #hysteroscopy procedures.
