The Bear S02E07 (Forks) is such a great episode for founders (or really anyone finding value in their craft). Richies change from an eye-rolling-it-doesnt-matter clock-watcher to finding his way is kinda beautiful..

What if Wes Anderson directed The Lord of the Rings? We asked the community which video they want to see next and Lord of the Rings took the cake… or should we say Elven bread. We hope you enjoy this Midjourney to Middle-Earth. #LordOfTheRings #WesAnderson #MovieTrailer #LOTR

Good design isn’t rare because it’s expensive, good design is rare because it’s not lazy.

Tech companies must keep shipping cool new things or die. Not because customers require it, but because the best employees do. If your best programmers stop being able to ship new things, they'll leave to work somewhere they can.

A cheat code for life is just to ask for what you want. The harder part is figuring out what that actually is.

Every time someone asks me why I am still in SF, the answer is always the same *People* My loved ones & all the cool people I know are still here If they all moved with me, I'd leave in a heartbeat Cities are just places with buildings if you don't have a social circle

It is hard for less experienced developers to appreciate how rarely architecting for future requirements / applications turns out net-positive.

I continue to feel skeptical about remote work as the future. Colocated work still strikes me as more fulfilling and productive for most people over the long term. If it were safe to go back to work tomorrow, I think most of us would.

The suspension of the H1B visa program is bad for the US, bad for innovation, and will shatter dreams and disrupt lives. As a former H1B visa holder, my heart goes out to all the families affected.

Do people think they're just not going to get coronavirus? Do they not care? Do they not understand how it works? I'm just trying to figure out why people are acting like we're not in a deadly pandemic that has killed over 110,000 people.

I thought martial law might happen when the pandemic started if deaths kept growing, but COVID wasn't the direct cause. Instead, the upstream cause of it all — *uncontrolled* pandemic, riots, and martial law — is a mutually untrusting society and a dysfunctional state.
So who had 'martial law' on their 2020 tail risk bingo card?

After 10 years, I left SF for LA in January. There are somewhere north of 137 blog posts and stories that have been written about "Why I Left SF" in the last few years. Here is mine: city-journal.org/thousands-l…
