still think about the spirited away scene where haku feeds chihiro some rice balls after she went thru hell the night before and saw her parents turn into pigs the morning after. like she finally had some time to decompress and take in the reality. and these massive globs of tears just keep coming out of her eyes, like the way they animated her ugly crying it was so ridiculous the size of her tears, all while bits of half chewed rice balls kept falling out of her mouth.
i think about that scene every time i put salt and rice vinegar into my rice to make onigiri.
and then right before this haku was like, you should eat this, i put a spell on them. she was so exhausted and traumatized being all alone in a new world basically coming to terms with being forcrd into indentured servitude AS A CHILD and still trying to hold it together. so the first moment of respite she gets is this act of kindness she gets from someone she literally just met.
i just love the way they animated all the little details as she takes bites out of the magical rice balls. like each successive bite removes parts of the rice balls and the rice grains end up on her face and hands.
the magic rice ball spell was love bro.

i just love how internally consistent the time travel logic. bill and ted become omnipotent beings just by going, yo so after we beat the bad guys we should go back in time to set ourselves up with all the things we need to beat them.
