Now Ontario teacher contracts in the public boards have expired, does that make them free agents? Should teachers change up the system and enter free agency? Today would make for a great opening day! I wonder what salaries would be? Would there be a veteran or league minimum?
Hey @ONgov just wondering how you plan on tracking and therefore giving potentially 15% of a students grade for the mandatory online courses you want them to take? Many of these are asynchronous.
Love to see examples of corporate world (imagine a law office or bank) doing theme dress weeks teachers and students do. Examples are pride week, and spirit week but all theme days as well. Band shirts, jerseys, Halloween, pink shirt day, orange shirt day, clan/house colours etc.
Just gonna put this out there. I bet no on in a country that loves the second amendment will show up to a military parade with a gun. I bet it’s gonna be fine…
I want folks interviewing in the media whose guests mispronounce peoples names to intentionally mispronounce their guests name until the guest freaks out. #Kamala4President2024 #namesmatter

Summer holiday starts now. There are few things more satisfying than turing off my morning alarm for the summer!!!
Does anyone know a good conference/webinar, etc., for a new colleague interested in starting into Standards Based Assessment? #chemtwitter #sciteacher

A day in the life of a teacher:
Arrive 30 min early for extra help before a test p1.
Administer test p1, run to the bathroom in the 5 min transition. Prep during P2 some coverage and mark like crazy. Go to school chapel service(anglican boys choir school) 1/n
Have to address issues and league + team discipline and suspensions for penalties. Take taxi for 35 min to pickup my own kids feed them and get them started on HW, walk dog while stewing on my students. Start my next day with a text from my Athletic Director trying arrange a 4/n
Hi Science Folks,
I keep a blog for my students of interesting books that might be of interest here: sciencereadingisfun.blogspot…
I'm looking to do something similar with podcasts. I'd like to display them in a similar way to my blog and I'm looking for ideas on how to do this.
Is there a more inclusive word/phrase to describe the first organisms in an ecosystem? I'm teaching succession and I want to avoid using 'colonizers' if I can.
First organisms??

@ChristiansonAmy I'm a HS science teacher, and I'm wondering if you have any ecological succession practices that you could share with me and my gr 9 students? I loved you on Ologies and would love to share some info with my classes in Toronto about what is occurring right now.
