Since 2020, at least 71 drinking water providers in Alabama have reported concentrations of cancer-linked forever chemicals (PFAS) that exceed new limits set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. At least four water systems in Alabama have reported PFAS as high as 40 parts per trillion. That’s ten times the new EPA limit.
