🇺🇸 SCOTT BESSENT JUST POSTED THIS:
Dear Senator Elizabeth Warren:
I have received your October 7 letter, which adds to the mounting body of evidence of your complete paucity of knowledge about financial markets. Rather than take my suggestion of studying introductory economics, you have continued your letter-writing crusade and participation in tabloid fodder about the Treasury Department.
Unfortunately, it is difficult to treat your concerns as sincere. As the federal funds rate climbed from near zero to its highest level in 22 years, with inflation hitting a 40-year high, you were a cheerleader for the Biden Administration’s reckless spending. You blamed the economic consequences on the Federal Reserve, rather than your own irresponsible fiscal policies. Your view of the economy depends on who occupies the White House, but your woeful understanding of the issues is consistent.
The “interventions” you describe as “unprecedented” have been underway since May 2024. The buyback program has been well received by market participants in bolstering Treasury liquidity, which reduces market volatility, increases the convenience yield of Treasury securities and ensures the best value for the taxpayer. The continued enhancements optimize Treasury market liquidity in primary and secondary markets. The U.S. Treasury market’s liquidity and performance versus global peers is evidence.
While you voted for a $5 trillion tax hike on everyday Americans, the Working Families Tax Cuts continue to deliver for families and workers across the country. The average refund this filing season was over $3,400, an increase of 11 percent over the previous year. More than 30 million workers claimed No Tax on Overtime, more than 7 million claimed No Tax on Tips, and more than 37 million seniors claimed their enhanced deduction. More than 34 million families claimed the permanently enhanced Child Tax Credit, and millions of families are utilizing Trump Accounts to unlock a new savings vehicle for children. All of which you voted against.
These results are made possible by the employees of the Department of the Treasury, who are working around the clock for the American people. Unsurprisingly, you have responded by criticizing their dedication and aptitude for the job in a recent interview.¹ Despite your malign characterization, the Domestic Finance team you alluded to in your interview is fully staffed relative to historical levels. It is ironic that you have voted against every presidential appointee for a position at Treasury, no matter how impressive the qualifications for the role. Given your newfound interest in Department personnel, I challenge you to reverse course and thoughtfully engage with future nominees and support their confirmation.
Finally, my offer of a Foreign Exchange for Dummies tutorial still stands and if you receive a passing grade on the Yale metric, not the Harvard curve, I would be happy to also include a Fixed Income for Dummies.
Sincerely,
Scott Bessent
Then he finished with a handwritten note ✍️
Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day in advance to you and your family.

Mark Wahlberg is set to play Pete Rose in a new movie about Charlie Hustle’s incredible life and career.
This could be one hell of a movie.
Pete Rose wasn’t just a baseball player. He was Cincinnati. He played harder than damn near anybody who ever stepped on a field, became MLB’s all-time hits leader, then carried all the controversy that came with it.
Wahlberg as Pete Rose?
Yeah, I’m watching this one!!!

Over 30,000 law enforcement officers across Ohio put on their uniforms without knowing what they may face in the line of duty. Just this past week, in Dayton, seven officers were injured after a man suspected of homicide & carjacking stole a police cruiser before ramming it into a home. My opponent should apologize for comparing law enforcement to the KKK, it just fans the flames of these toxic anti-police attitudes that unnecessarily endanger our officers.

The first victim of 9/11 was Danny Lewin. Born in Denver, raised in Jerusalem. Captain in Sayeret Matkal. Mathematician. Co-founder of Akamai - the company that still carries a huge share of the internet.
On the morning of September 11, 2001 he boarded American Airlines Flight 11 from Boston to Los Angeles and sat in seat 9B.
Directly in front of him: Mohamed Atta and Abdulaziz al-Omari.
Directly behind him: Satam al-Suqami.
When the hijackers rose and moved toward the cockpit, Lewin - 31 years old, elite IDF officer - stood up to stop them.
Al-Suqami slit his throat from behind.
Flight attendants Betty Ong and Amy Sweeney radioed that a passenger in 9B had been stabbed and appeared dead. The 9/11 Commission later concluded he was almost certainly the first person murdered that day.
Twenty-five minutes later Flight 11 hit the North Tower.
He left a wife and two young sons.
Israel is the only country outside the United States with a 9/11 memorial that lists every victim by name, built from Ground Zero steel. Danny Lewin’s name is on it.
May his memory be a blessing.

Vivek’s response to Cameron Lyon’s m*rder by an illegal alien drunk driver in Ohio Vs. Amy Acton’s response:
The contrast cannot be more clear.
How is this even a choice?
Two months ago Cameron Lyon proposed to the love of his life.
She said yes! 💍
But they’re never going to have a wedding…
He was kiIIed this week when an illegal alien invader crashed into him while driving drunk.
We should not have to live like this.
You are not infuriated enough.
RIP Cameron 💔

Fun fact: @amyactonoh's campaign doesn't let those that attend her events use their cell phone cameras.
Flight 11 on 911 - the Madeline Amy Sweeney Story.
Madeline Amy Sweeney was 35. American Airlines flight attendant. Acton, Massachusetts.
She usually worked weekends so she could be home with her kids during the week. On September 11 she took an extra shift because a coworker was sick.
Before takeoff she called her husband. She was upset she wasn’t there to put their little girl on the kindergarten bus.
Flight 11 left Boston for Los Angeles. Minutes later it was hijacked.
Amy got American Airlines on the phone at Logan. The man who picked up was Michael Woodward, a manager she’d known for years. She didn’t scream. She didn’t freeze. She started giving him facts.
The plane had been taken.
Two flight attendants stabbed.
A passenger in business class had his throat cut and looked dead.
They couldn’t reach the cockpit.
The men were Middle Eastern.
One spoke English very well.
She gave him seat numbers.
Ground staff pulled the passenger list. One of those seats belonged to Mohamed Atta.
She stayed on that line while the jet turned toward New York.
Her last words to Woodward:
“I see water. I see buildings. We are flying low. We are flying very, very low. We are flying way too low. Oh my God.”
8:46 a.m. Flight 11 hit the North Tower.
Amy was 35. Husband Michael. Daughter Anna. Son Jack. 4 and 5 years old.
She couldn’t save that plane.
She made sure the country knew who took it.
Remember her name.
Madeline Amy Sweeney. Flight 11. Never forget.

A message to the Ohio Dems: if your nominee can’t fight for your positions on a debate stage, why would she fight for you (or anyone) when she’s Governor?
Patrick Shea retweeted
I disagree with Ohio Dems on policy, but even they should want a fighter who’s willing to actually defend their positions. They should’ve nominated a real candidate, instead of someone who’s quit every job she’s ever had & is now quitting on the debate.
