It'll lower your exposure to wildfire smoke while indoors. Proven over and over and over and over and over and over and ... again - including peer-reviewed articles in top technical journals, folks. Just do it.

Very good standard of minimum requirements for airborne infectious disease transmission. Now to gain adoption in schools and many other indoor settings, and to keep reminding that Standard 241 establishes MINIMUM requirements to reduce disease transmission by infectious aerosols.
Exciting news! ASHRAE has approved the publication of its highly anticipated airborne infection risk mitigation standard for buildings. ASHRAE Standard 241 establishes minimum requirements to reduce disease transmission through infectious aerosols. bit.ly/43dyGlz!

Before the NBA shut down, before WHO declared a pandemic, before lockdowns, we knew this virus spread thru the air and ventilation and filtration were key to slowing transmission. It would take almost a full year for this to be recognized. March 4, 2020👇 nytimes.com/2020/03/04/opini…

“Many commentators have claimed that a recently updated Cochrane review shows that ‘masks don’t work,’ which is an inaccurate and misleading interpretation,” Karla Soares-Weiser, the editor in chief of the Cochrane Library, said in a statement. nytimes.com/2023/03/10/opini…

I see we’re doing this again…An intervention (masks) can be highly effective at *population level* at one point in time (early in pandemic) AND less effective at another point (low compliance now) AND also provide excellent *personal* protection even if others not masking (N95)
I see a lot of people - on both "sides" - making simple mistakes about masks. I've studied PPE, taught PPE, and overseen PPE programs, including teams implementing fit testing in hospitals, long before covid. A thread

#crboxinthewild Great news, @cplund! Keep spreading the word. And your students are right. The air quality in your classroom may be much better than other classrooms sans a CR Box. 👍
Replying to @CorsIAQ @Don_Milton
My HVAC technician at my MA high school is now helping me build CR boxes. I didn’t have to buy my own Merv13 filters for this one! I am trying to spread the word that air quality matters. My students now tell me the air in my classroom is “fresher” than other rooms. Thank you 😊
