JUST IN: Sig Network CEO showcases a "private version of Uniswap on Midnight—a private version of $ETH. You can open any ETH app, for example Uniswap, and swap. You have the ability to do everything you can do on Ethereum. People won't even realize that you're using Midnight."

Happy to have shared at the Solana Summit today our new Solana wallet support for Midnight! @solana users will be able to do private swaps and interact with private DeFi directly from their Solana wallets (no separate install required!)

Cardano's core protocol work continues at @blockpqr, founded by @hegaleon, who led technical delivery for the Cardano blockchain at IO, ran core infrastructure for the van Rossem upgrade, and now heads blockchain at Midnight Foundation. Delivery stays with IO, open via Intersect. 👇 Learn more below.

Connecting to Midnight via a MetaMask wallet!! (it works with many EVM tools too!) we're so close to shipping best-in-class account abstraction for Midnight. Easily a 100x cost reduction for a lot of partner integrations

We are using @IOGroup Blaster to formally verify critical properties of Gravity’s swap logic across every valid transaction context in scope. Cardano was built for this, for formal proofs to verify that something is working, and, much like our DEX, we’re only using it at the best of it’s abilities 😤 We’ll share results soon 😈

You are truly a vile man. We did not audit the bridge protocol that was exploited. We audited a completely different bridge smart contract, Wanchain V1, which launched years ago, suffered no exploits, and has since been deprecated in favor of the new V2 bridge smart contracts which used an entirely separate auditing firm (which you have attached the report for). I have spent countless hours helping impacted users recover their funds in this incident and in the SecondFi incident, directly interfacing with and helping over two hundred impacted users across both incidents. You can continue to spew bullshit and yap, I'll continue devoting my time to actually achieving things, to incident response and to helping make sure end-users are made whole.

How about teaming state-of-the-art formal methods and verification tools like Blaster with the AI white-hat crew? Double the security, half the drama.
Most of us with half a brain understand that the Secondfi hack and the more recent WanChain $NIGHT hack isn't a hack on the Night chain or the Cardano chain at the protocol level. But, that doesn't make victims feel really excited about rebuying their entire portfolio. Most of them will leave saying crypto is a scam and Cardano sucks. They are understandably angry. What we need to do is re-audit all the bridge contracts especially the old ones. White hat hack em using AI. Rewrite the code if necessary. Don't wait for another hack. And start delegating to Dreps that are technically sound like @ItsDave_ADA . He gave warnings. Some Dreps are just Cardano cheerleaders with not much of any technical awareness. Even if they abstain they may be unintentionally hurting Cardano. We need these people as valuable community leaders with a voice, but maybe not as a Drep. PS, governance is hard. Losing money combined with a perceived notion that Cardano contracts or wallet security is weak, IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. It is/was one of the few advantages we had over other chains.

Signature reuse bug in 2026? 😭 We’re out here building bridges with the cryptographic equivalent of ‘trust me bro’ Formal verification isn’t optional when real money (or lives) is on the line. Let’s make it the default, not the ‘nice to have.’ Stay safe out there, builders!
BlockSec: Wanchain Cardano Bridge Reportedly Exploited, 515M NIGHT Drained BlockSec's Phalcon said Wanchain's Cardano bridge was reportedly exploited, with approximately 515 million NIGHT drained from the bridge treasury. Initial analysis suggests the issue may stem from non-injective signed-message encoding in the TreasuryCheck validator, potentially enabling signature reuse attacks. NIGHT is the native token of Midnight, a privacy-focused blockchain project incubated by Input Output (IO), the company behind Cardano. Following the incident, NIGHT fell more than 30% intraday to around $0.016, hitting a record low. Based on current prices, the drained tokens are worth roughly $9 million.

We wanted to provide a brief clarification regarding the recent incident involving NIGHT. The incident is isolated to the Wanchain Cardano–BNB bridge and does not involve the @MidnightNtwrk itself. Midnight's protocol, validator network, consensus, and core infrastructure remain secure and continue to operate normally. This was a third-party bridge infrastructure incident affecting cross-chain transfers between Cardano and BNB Chain, rather than an issue with the NIGHT asset or the Midnight blockchain. We are in close contact with Wanchain as they continue their investigation and response. Based on our assessment, we do not believe this incident changes the security or operational integrity of the Midnight network. We remain confident in the resilience of the Midnight network and will continue to keep partners informed should there be any material developments.
🚨 Community Update: We are aware of reports concerning an incident involving the Wanchain Cardano to BNB bridge affecting bridged NIGHT. Based on the information currently available, this appears to relate to cross-chain bridge operations and not the @MidnightNtwrk itself. We are actively monitoring the situation and working with relevant partners to establish the facts. We encourage the community to rely only on official updates and remain vigilant for phishing attempts or impersonation scams while investigations are ongoing.

🧵 Follow-up on the $NIGHT selling I flagged earlier and it now lines up with the @midnightfdn update. The "contract" those ~515M $NIGHT were pulled from today is Wanchain's Cardano-side bridge lock address, the custody backing Wanchain-wrapped NIGHT on BNB. Verify it yourself: that address is listed in Wanchain's own bridge API (bridge-api.wanchain.org/api/…). What the chain shows: • ~515M NIGHT roughly 97% of the bridge's NIGHT reserves (~527M → ~12M) — drained from the lock address today (14:46–14:55 UTC). Only NIGHT was taken with other bridged tokens left untouched, matching the Foundation's "affecting bridged NIGHT." • Funds routed through fresh wallets and dumped on Cardano DEXs (~290M+ sold, price ~−50%). This is a bridge-layer incident, token supply is unchanged. The wrapped NIGHT on BNB is now largely unbacked though. Bridge lock (Wanchain): addr1xyw0kswupwx38ljnvq8pwpvae0x69krywdr7cffg3d84ydp9nvv84g58ykxqh90xx6j8ywgjst0dkt430w9lxgdmzncsw5rzpd Seller wallet: addr1qysj48kpy8qra2g64scvu79n489qrv2uys5ggsrun29v5f5udqxfpr7x0pqfl6khjwv6vm0k8s3spn6h0zfrwszfqgcqeld8kj
