when you in Rome, do as romans do.

Now that Japan has decided to abandon cultural innovation for propaganda and AI slop, other countries have opportunities to imitate Japanese media and reinterpret it their own way, especially manga. Korea and France already did it.
Manga doesn’t belong just to Japan anymore.

“Steadily shutting down companies like OpenAI is the right course of action. But the problem is that there are just too many of them, so it’s practically impossible to eliminate them all.”

"What dominates Islamic discourse in Japan is not the emergence of scholars, public intellectuals, or institution-builders capable of addressing Japanese society at a civilizational level. Instead, the landscape is increasingly shaped by daʿwah organizations distributing endless “Islam 101” pamphlets written in awkward Japanese under the assumption that Japanese readers must simply be instructed from above; by businessmen building profitable halal industries detached from the ethical and legal foundations that once gave Islamic commerce moral meaning; and by Muslim-friendly influencers consuming luxury halal ramen in Tokyo while performing as though the catastrophes affecting Muslim societies globally have little relevance to their lives."

630 AD: crush the Eastern Turkic Khaganate.
Capture its Khagan, get proclaimed "Heavenly Khagan".
Peak imperial ego: "Chinese and barbarians are one big happy family."
Integrate Turkic elites into your empire.
643: your crown prince gets caught plotting a coup and is reportedly obsessed with Turkic culture.
You die in 649.
Your successor's wife, Wu Zetian, seizes the throne and temporarily replaces your dynasty with her own.
682: the Turks revive their Khaganate.
Turns out conquering a people doesn't uninstall their national ambitions.
755: An Lushan launches a rebellion that nearly breaks the Tang Empire.
Around 36 million people died.
The Capital Chang'an, where the Khagan once danced for your amusement, is completely sacked and burned to the ground.
Descendants are now on their knees begging a new nomad tribe (the Uyghurs) to save them in exchange for tons of silk and imperial princesses.
The Tang Dynasty now needs Uyghur cavalry to help save its ass.

Recently, trains have been making constant stops and delays, and I had the feeling Japanese public services have been running a lot shittier nowadays.
On top of the hackings, this finally confirms it. I guess the years of refusing to update infrastructure have come home to roost

How tuned in are my foreign moots to what’s going on in Japan rn?
Trying to gauge to see how aware people on the outside are of just how far this country has decayed in recent years.
It’s always funny to see western libs learning that Ukrainians are actually viciously racist and only pretend to be liberals to get handouts.
I just found out Japanese prime ministers have no fixed term limits. I’m going to live in LDP hell forever.
I should just adopt the mentality of my third-world moots who accept that their dogshit country will never improve, cuz Japan is about on par with the Philippines atp.

Boichi, the creator of "Dr. STONE," states the following:
"Pirate manga readers ARE NOT OUR ADVERSARIES. They are our future audience. They are proof that the demand already exists."
Boichi explains that many manga fans around the world still lack access to legal manga because some countries DO NOT HAVE publishing infrastructure, translation systems, or distribution networks.
"Telling manga fans in those countries, 'You should buy manga,' makes no sense if they have no way to acquire it."
He maintains that affordable digital manga services are key to expanding the industry globally and creating opportunities for future creators.
HE TOTALLY GETS IT! 🙏
Guy who’s technically above me is being a piece of shit. Trying to shift responsibility onto me without any prep while he fucks off to dick around, then chews me out for “making him look bad” when I ask questions to try and actually do the job. How do I deal with this situation?
I noticed that in Japan, while there is a strong outrage over mosques being built anywhere (legally), obviously evangelical churches pop up with no problem even in rural cities.
