The European Commission announced this week that it will partner with top-tier European investors to set up the Scaleup Europe Fund (a new, multi-billion scaleup and late-stage Fund) to boost Europe's tech leadership and support the scaling of our most innovative companies. The Scaleup Europe Fund, a key delivery from the Startup and Scaleup Strategy, will empower European strategic tech companies to grow into global champions while maintaining their base in Europe, strengthening the continent’s technological sovereignty and competitiveness. The group of potential founding investors in the Fund include Novo Holdings, EIFO (Export and Investment Fund of Denmark), CriteriaCaixa, Santander/Mouro Capital, Fondazione Compagnia San Paolo/Intesa Sanpaolo/Fondazione Cariplo, APG Asset Management, acting on behalf of Dutch pension fund ABP, Wallenberg Investments, and BGK (Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego).
