She’s been a member of the Liberal party for 50 years - she just decided the day before a close Mayoral election maybe it wasn’t a good fit…for half a century?

In an interview, Crombie, the former Liberal leader, conceded that the red label “perhaps... wasn’t a good fit.” “I think the Liberal brand… I wasn’t comfortable wearing,” she said. “My policies were very conservative, frankly, and yet I was running as a Liberal.”

Crombie led the Party and she was uncomfortable with the policies? Of the Party she led? Also, why would she have attended the (federal) Liberal Caucus Xmas party then?
BREAKING: Interim Liberal leader John Fraser says he is “disappointed” by Bonnie Crombie’s suggestion in last night’s @readpolicorner story that the Liberal label “wasn’t a good fit” for her. Fraser says “it’s a little surprising to hear.” policorner.ca/p/a-mississaug…

When certain people ultimately point fingers at Elections Alberta for the delay and missteps tonight, don't forget who underfunded and hampered EA's requests for help to make sure this would run more smoothly.

I’m about as big a Liberal partisan there is, and I think the Liberal Party is the best, pragmatic, political option there is. We need to stop asking our political leaders to be edgelords. #cdnpoli
He has the highest approval rating ever because he is a Conservative, so he has their support, and the Liberal partisans aren't willing to accept that he's a Conservative, so he still has their support too. Carney has absolutely fucked our political landscape.

Ten years ago today. In just the last few days: Trump made a deal for the U.S. to buy Russian diesel, an economic lifeline for Putin; he and Elon Musk blamed each other for an order that slowed down Starlink satellite connectivity over Ukraine, hampering the country's defenses during a devastating Russian attack; and Trump waived sanctions on Russia that Congress, led by his late friend Lindsey Graham, had pushed for. Now, Putin has proposed a summit with Trump and Xi to decide Ukraine’s fate for them, bulldoze a century of international cooperation, and frame Russia as an equal to the U.S. and China. We’ll see if Putin’s puppet continues to dance on his strings.

We don’t use Starlink for our responses inside Russia. We use Starlink to intercept jet-powered “shaheds” that attack our civilians and kill families. Starlink wasn’t turned off – its speed was reduced. And when the speed was reduced, we were unable to intercept a certain number of jet-powered “shaheds.” We couldn’t use a tool that helps protect people. That’s very painful and frustrating. We also use Starlink for mid-range strikes against enemy military targets in our temporarily occupied territories. We couldn’t do that when the restrictions were in place. And third, what matters most is people. Our warriors, who spend weeks and months on the front line, receive food and water delivered by drones using Starlink. Has the speed been fully restored to what it was before? No. Is it being restored now? Yes. From a conversation with media representatives in Brussels. (2/3)

EXCLUSIVE: Elon Musk approached Donald Trump with the idea of slowing down Starlink in Ukraine, The Telegraph can reveal. The billionaire tech entrepreneur approached the US president with the proposal to introduce speed limits on the system, which hampered Ukraine’s drone defences, according to four sources familiar with the discussions. 🔗 telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2…

the crowd absolutely erupts when Carney says the Pacific Link pipeline will reduce Canada's dependence on the U.S. Mark Carney: "Careful. They might think that's election interference. They're a little touchy down there. We're not. We're getting on with it."

If Putin stops fighting, the war ends. If Zelensky stops fighting then his country will be occupied, leaders murdered, language banned, businesses stolen, children kidnapped. That's what happens in Russian-occupied Ukraine.
