Komatireddy argued that these sites and their funding facilitate drug use. My question: where is the clear road from this policy to recovery? Compassion should include treatment, mental-health care, counseling, stable housing, peer support, and follow-up—not just clean needles. A needle may reduce some risks, but it isn’t a recovery plan. Policies can look good on paper. The people living with the results know what happens in practice.
