Thank you to everyone who tuned in to last week's X Space with David Palmer (@Metaversebizz) and Parker Spann (@P4Cap).
One question from David stayed with us: when did you last make a normal phone call, or send an SMS? Most of that traffic now runs through apps built on top of the network, and so does most of the value.
For mobile operators, he sees one big area left:
"So I think the last frontier of that is payments, right?"
Listen below.
Always the French…
Hi @elonmusk , we’ve conducted the most comprehensive study to date on tax unfairness in the United States.
We found that you, like your fellow billionaires, pay a lower effective tax rate than the average American.
So if you really want to help the American people, I have a better suggestion than charity: pay more taxes. 🧵

For anyone who missed yesterday’s discussion with Parker Spann (@p4cap) and David Palmer (@Metaversebizz), they covered David’s role as @TelcoinTAO's telecom advisor, mainnet, and how they’re approaching operator adoption.
A few things worth sharing:
• Parker said mainnet is coming later this year. No specific date was given.
• Validator onboarding is happening now. He asked operators and mobile money providers to get their technical and strategy teams involved before mainnet. Reach out to @TelcoinTAO if you are interested in getting involved or to learn more.
• Developers are already working on integrating existing applications and bringing local currencies onchain.
• Part of the plan is to move existing mobile money apps with millions of users onto Telcoin Network.
• Parker said the banking and partner API allows operators, wallets, and fintechs to offer bank accounts under their own brand. Customers could use those services through apps they already have.
• David is already helping them reach the right decision makers. Parker said those introductions are getting them into the right rooms pretty much immediately.
• The first use cases Parker expects to move quickly are remittances, mobile money, and payments between operators, using stablecoins and onchain FX.
• Parker also said they’ve identified an agentic application he’s excited about, but left the details for another time.
David kept coming back to one point: operators need to see how this makes them money. His work includes helping the team build that business case and connect it with the people who can approve it.
He said he hopes we’ll start seeing the results over the next few months. He also described the next 12 to 18 months as a critical window for execution.
No new operators were named, but Parker did explicitly say onboarding and integration work are underway.

Just got this email from @TelcoinDAB…
You can now move USD from your connected bank account into eUSD and withdraw it back to your bank through ACH with ZERO fees charged by Telcoin.
No deposit fees. No withdrawal fees.
This is the kind of stuff that matters when it comes to making digital cash practical for everyday people. Getting money in and out shouldn’t be complicated or expensive.
Another piece of the infrastructure coming together. base:0x09be1692ca16e06f536f0038ff11d1da8524adb1

Yeah…I think they’ll probably find out how IP is actually enforced pretty soon
Chamath says IP and software were "effectively rendered worthless" this week, after people decompiled Adobe's core products and published open-source versions, as every service goes headless
"The more important point I want to make though, is I sent this to Nick, there's been a couple things that happened in the last couple days, which I think are incredibly important."
"There have been people that decompiled the entire, the entire big five. What is the big five? Adobe has five very, very important products in their product suite. Freeberg may know them all, but I just know Photoshop. There's like a bunch of others. Okay."
"And these folks decompiled it, distilled it, and published open source versions of these things. And Rust, yeah. And I was so shocked, because I was like, hold on a second, these are like profound products that have existed and have had moats for years, and now they're just open source versions."
"And then Nikita was, I think, trolling, and he was building on that idea, and just talking about GTA, because it's about to get released. I think GTA 6 is about to come out, and we'll reconstruct this."
"Why is this important?"
"I think that IP and software was effectively rendered worthless two days ago."
"Because if you think about it, when everything is headless, so when Elon makes his services headless, Benioff made Salesforce headless a few months earlier, when all of these things are headless, and you can wrap them in agent tools, and you can connect them via MCP to other experiences, the value of IP does no longer exist in software. It doesn't exist."
"And I think that probably is the most profound implication."
"So, like, even in our business, we would argue with some of our customers all the time, because we'll say, oh, we'll build this for you, we'll own the IP. They'll say, no, we want the IP. We don't know how to negotiate it. And two days ago, I walked into the 8090 guys, I said, who cares? Who cares? But before, it was always a negotiation and a set of trade-offs. Now it's a who-cares thing, where, like, the IP is irrelevant."
"It still takes a while for the machinery of a business, and frankly the market, to understand. But that is the most important thing that happened this week in AI, in my opinion."
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The referenced open-source Adobe alternatives were not created via decompilation. Their developer describes them as clean-room reimplementations built from public specs, observed behavior and AI assistance in Rust.

Iran's IRGC Publishes 26-Page Open Letter To Directly to AMERICANS
I read the entire letter. It is FAR more extensive than the excerpts circulating online.
The IRGC DIRECTLY addresses American citizens, students, academics and journalists, laying out its view of the war, decades of U.S.-Iran hostility and what it believes Americans should do next.
Key points:
• IRAN CLAIMS VICTORY: The letter argues the U.S. and Israel failed to achieve their objectives despite vastly greater military spending. It points to Iran's control of the Strait of Hormuz, continued weapons production, national unity and damage inflicted on U.S. regional bases.
• WHY IRAN DID NOT BREAK: The IRGC says Iran's strength ultimately comes not from missiles or drones, but from Quranic principles, national unity and religious leadership. It devotes several pages to Karbala and the Shia principle of resisting oppression regardless of the cost.
• "DEATH TO AMERICA SLOGAN": The IRGC says the slogan targets America's ruling political establishment, NOT ordinary Americans. It argues that Iranians and Americans are both victims of the same political elite.
• 73 YEARS OF HOSTILITY: The letter traces the conflict from the 1953 coup through the Shah, the Iran-Iraq War, sanctions, Flight 655, the killing of Qasem Soleimani, the 2025 war, the January 2026 unrest and the current war.
• IRGC TERRORISM DESIGNATION: The Guards argue Washington designated the IRGC a terrorist organization because it repeatedly blocked U.S. attempts to weaken or overthrow the Islamic Republic.
• NUCLEAR PROGRAM: The letter calls allegations that Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons one of Washington's biggest lies. It notes that U.S. officials have claimed for 25 YEARS that Iran was only "weeks or months" away from building a bomb, yet Iran still has no nuclear weapon.
• ISRAEL: The IRGC argues U.S. support for Israel has damaged America's interests, reputation and finances, while American taxpayers continue funding Israeli military operations.
• AMERICAN DECLINE: The letter blames foreign wars, military spending, national debt, deindustrialization and poor leadership for weakening the U.S. It contrasts this with China's continued advances while Washington spends enormous resources fighting wars abroad.
• CLOSE THE BASES: The letter urges Americans to demand the closure of roughly 800 U.S. overseas military bases, bring American troops home, end aid to Israel and redirect that money toward science, advanced manufacturing and domestic prosperity.
• CHANGE U.S. LEADERSHIP: Americans are urged to use their votes to remove politicians the letter describes as corrupt and dishonest. It specifically mocks politicians who think they can buy Americans' votes with a $5,000 payment.
• THE WARNING: The IRGC warns that continuing the war could trigger broader political and economic backlash against U.S. interests around the world.
• THE OFFER: Despite its attacks on the U.S. government, the letter tells Americans:
"We can live together in peaceful coexistence."
• THE ENDING: The final paragraphs invoke JESUS CHRIST and IMAM MAHDI, saying Iran awaits their return to establish justice and hopes Americans will ultimately stand alongside Iranians.
The central message across all 26 pages is a clear distinction between the AMERICAN GOVERNMENT and the AMERICAN PEOPLE.
The IRGC portrays the conflict as the result of decades of U.S. policy while telling Americans that a completely different relationship with Iran remains possible.

I’m so fucking sick of giving away 3% of all our revenue just for processing a payment. Like how is that not disrupted yet? Most ecom brands run on around 15% net. So we are giving up over 16% of our potential pre transaction fee profits to these bastards. Someone please disrupt this. It’s as if credit card processing companies are 16% equity holders in all our businesses.
