When I started anaesthesia one of my consultants matched the tube to the diameter of the patient’s index finger. Not unusual for size 11 in males. Never needed much air in the cuff …….
#medtwitter. During my anesthesiology training all females were default tube size 8.0, male 9.0. Then I started working @ different hospital as consultant and female 7.0, male 8.0. Then in another country female 7.5 and male 8.5. In which country do u work? What is your default?
