I’m so sick of dumbass poorly educated Americans with no progressive values and no rights shitting on the right to die with dignity. A right which terminally ill people fought for and gained through our constitution and our, properly functioning, courts. Having to read this shit is slowly driving me insane 96% of MAID deaths are people with a grievous and incurable medical condition facing imminent and certain death. Late stage cancer patients, like my great uncle who just died with MAID a couple months ago, make up 65% of the cases. 4% are those with the same incurable diseases who live in a state of agony, but with death less certain. Our constitution protects liberty and security of the person, and as such guarantees the right to die with dignity… the same provision which prohibits the state to execute you against your will. These are people who are dying anyway. People who choose to die on their own terms, rather than have to die painfully in a hospital or or to blow their brains out to be discovered by their children or first responders like in America. You can’t compare this to kids shot at Sandy Hook, or through accidental firearm discharges, or through family violence
