For every Yemeni national TV channel, there's a Saudi-funded knockoff. For every ministry, a Saudi-funded knockoff. For every institution, authority, and official title, yet another Saudi-funded knockoff.
The result is layer upon layer of confusion for anyone trying to understand Yemen. And that confusion is entirely deliberate.
Since the "international community" has decided to erroneously grant the Saudi-backed exiled regime "legitimacy", this is also reflected on social media. Saudi-funded Yemeni ministries all carry grey verification badges on X.
Except on the World Wide Web. Because this regime was kicked out of Sana'a, it no longer has access to Yemen's state internet infrastructure. Instead, it has to resort to generic .com, .net and .org domains.
Yemeni ministries, state institutions, and media outlets operating from Sana'a will often carry a .org.ye, .gov.ye, or simply .ye domain.
Look for these when trying to untangle it all. A .ye domain is a useful indicator that you're dealing with a Sana'a-based institution rather than its Saudi-backed counterpart.

While fabricated news stories emerge about advances by Aden forces in Marib toward Sanaa, the reality of the situation hits them hard. The YNA suffered heavy losses—both in personnel and equipment—during the fighting in September and October. The attrition from the battles over the hills of the Jawf and Marib deserts is taking its toll on the ability of the PLC and its allies to hold their positions in Lahij once Taiz has fallen, but it also opens the door for Ansarallah to end the fighting in the north by eliminating the last strongholds of the pro-Saudi YNA. 🇾🇪
