I really don’t like how confident people are assuming the actors in HOTD hate every moment. ohhhhhhh liv cooke reactivated ig to promote another show which she must love more? maybe she’s contractually obliged but exempt for HOTD because of all the shit she gets from you ppl!!!

don’t even know how to fix this. feels too far gone. but my boring office job that in theory is a supplement to my creative pursuits is so exhausting that it’s all I can do. I don’t gig any more, I don’t write jokes, I’ve had an agent for a year with nothing to show for it

no acting credits, nothing to show for the last five years of my life but debt and burnout and bad diet and no exercise because I am expending all of my energy just getting up and going to work every day. and it’s so all encompassing that I can’t begin to think of how to get out

as a certified narnia lover I am very excited for what greta gerwig is doing!!! I feel the updated timeline is going to bring some fun modernisation when she gets to the pevensies and I’m excited for everyone to call it woke forever

my singing teacher is either ghosting me or legitimately missing and it’s upsetting me so much. she hasn’t replied to my texts or turned up for our lessons in almost a month. the venue we use also cannot get in touch with her

but I’m so peripheral to her life I don’t know what else to do - I don’t know where she lives, any of her other students or anyone else who knows her at all. so if she’s disappeared I’ll just never know. and I like her so much

I said 1930s, not 1940s. A lot of the replies are hysterical and ignorant of history. 1930s problems; Economic collapse - hyperinflation leading to depression. Mass unemployment. Decline of industry/production. Political collapse - constant reshuffling of cabinets, frequent elections. Political violence endemic: commies fighting in the streets, political assassination. Social decay - Transgenderism and sexual degeneracy rife (Institute for Sexual Science). Mass abortions. Welfare state. Women’s suffrage. Antisocial behaviour. Jewish influence in media and finance. An obsession with race mixing (pre-DEI). Do any of these problems sound familiar? 1930s solutions: Unemployment almost eradicated in one term. Jobs created: Autobahns, land reclamation, Reich Labor Service. Mass rearmament & conscription. Married women not expected to work. Loans provided if wife left work, portion forgiven per baby born. Non-natives excluded. Communists and socialists detained. Degenerate books burned. Modernist art mocked. Great art highlighted and promoted. Black music denounced. Contraception and abortion restricted. Non-natives stripped of citizenship. Crime fell. Economy boomed.

this is breathtaking
Nick Drake is one of my favourite people named after a type of bird theft. Others include Russell Crowe, Rob Fowler, Peregrin Took and Jack Sparrow.

It's sad really, bc one of the best parts of asoiaf/early GoT was starting out loving or hating a character, & slowly having your opinion change as they progress through the story, but now people just pick a character to stan & accuse the writers of favouritism if they change.

(arguing with the bookseller) actually in the early modern period "romance" meant a fanciful narrative set in an imaginary or exotic world so there is no need to have a separate "romantasy" section

in hindsight maybe a bad idea to do a week long run of a musical and then have two days off and then immediately go to do a week and a half of Edinburgh. I’ve got to pack bc I leave tomorrow but I am on my last fucking legs lol

deeply truly get a fucking LIFE
Men don’t understand that M&S changing rooms used to be a social space. Mums and daughters or groups of friends would go in together. People would come out of cubicles part-clothed to ask the assistant for another size. Women would ask others if a piece of clothing suited them.

Yes, it's very notable in Homer how great men drive all the action, with no interference from other, much more powerful forces, often associated with natural phenomena and frequently female.
Homer is the original Great Man Theorist of history. He’s not telling you the Trojans lost the war because of climate change. He’s telling you the tale of Hector, Odysseus, and Achilles.
