Working class is more than being dependent on wages. It’s not a mere category. It exists only when people who share that wage dependency develop common identity, tradition, sense of agency, & recognise that their common interests are in opposition to those who live off assets✊

"Drawing a line" under a motion is easy. Drawing a line under 20,000+ dead children is a different ask entirely. Move on if you must; don't expect ordinary folk to move on from the scale & pattern of violence inflicted against children bc it’s politically inconvenient
Zack did well on Kuenssberg, he’s good at doing what needs to be done. But I still wish he’d been facing the gross right wing barrage of stupid questions he was always gonna face about something like climate or cost of living instead of having to defend this stupid motion that damages the Greens. Wish we could all move on & draw a line under it but they’re not going to let go of it- that’s what the Greens are to the majority of the public now. And I think that’s a disaster.

The establisment has promoted Reform beyond its importance for years. Sky News devotes entire broadcasts to Farage's tawdry press conferences and Question Time had him on 38 times when the then Labour Party leader Corbyn was on once so don't talk twaddle about the establishment.

We are going to have to make sacrifices to defend our country. We are going to have to get welfare spending under control👇

Jo Coburn says that 'zionism is racism' is antisemitic and zionism is simply the right of Jews to self determination. If self-determination requires the dispossession & displacement of another people its not self determination, its ethnic cleansing & colonisation.

You got to hand it to Bibi, he’s the master of mocking.
Netanyahu mocks "Islamist Britain." "Did you know that 3,000 Brits have been brought to the dock and put on trial for tweeting this or that?" "Quite a few of them have gone to jail! The cradle of liberty has gone woke!" (The Israel Lobby championed said hate speech crackdown.)

Wow. Where to even start with this far right campaign of disinformation? It has nothing to do with "the third world". It is to do with more than a decade of Macronism - first as an "insert" into Hollande's government out of nowhere (not even an elected politician), then in a takeover as President to shore up the asset-stripping, welfare-state destroying neoliberal politics of the USA. Except you don't get to do that to the French people and expect to get away with it. Sit down and shut up, JD. Your politics of hate are vile, your divide-and-rule objectionable, and the only reason you don't have riots like this in your cities is because your people still, ridiculously, believe in your myth of the "American Dream". But it won't be long, given the road you are traveling down. And it won't be because of "immigrants".
Western liberals imported the third world into France and other countries in the name of diversity and compassion. They ignored fundamental questions of assimilation and compatibility. They were told it would lead to this and they didn't listen. I pray that France, a beautiful country of amazing people, will stop this madness before more of its landmarks burn. And I hope Americans are paying attention. This is the future congressional Democrats seek for your country.

Funny how loyalty tests are only applied selectively to certain people. The "civic nationalists" who demanded cricket fans prove their Britishness are conspicuously quiet when it comes to active military service in a certain foreign army.
🚨NEW: After a months-long investigation, we can reveal that a British national who posed in front of a burning school in Gaza fought for Israel and may have participated in war crimes. An exclusive with @declassifiedUK colleagues: declassifieduk.org/revealed-…

It's not 'Muslims' in France. It's not 'Russia' It's the result of enforced poverty by neoliberalism to ensure billionaires record profits at the expense of everyone else. And everybody is sick of it.

With her lonely stand for Palestine, Sally Rooney has exposed the contemporary literary world as a nest of cowards and careerists Where are all the Doris Lessings, Harold Pinters, John Bergers, Graham Greenes, Samuel Becketts that once raised their voices against war and injustice? Rooney stands almost alone

Apparently Sally Rooney is Antisemitic because she opposes genocide. People in Ireland are Antisemitic because they oppose genocide. This is why Andy Burnhams comments yesterday were so deeply irresponsible - blurring all the lines between being Jewish & criticising Israel.
Boulton "she, in common with a lot of people in Ireland is taking a very strong pro Palestine & I have to say anti Israel & anti Jewish stance" Adam, can you provide evidence that Sally Rooney is taking an anti Jewish stance? Or are you in fact lying to smear critics of Israel?

Either way the conversation around this is utterly disgusting. It's always about using the stick of starving or shaming people off welfare. It's especially insulting considering PIP is not an out of work benefit and was itself born from a welfare cut.
