Screen time wasn’t a thing when I was a kid. We had smartphones, we had social media, but the landscape was new and the dangers were hidden. In 2023 during @ycombinator we launched Clearspace Self Control which has saved more than a million people from their phones. In 2024 I became a Dad. And we started dreaming about what it would look like to give kids a childhood with less screen time. We discovered that the key was to make it easier for parents to teach their kids the life skill of screen time - more transparency, more trust. Common reference points and a reliable foundation for meaningful conversations. We made checking in and setting reasonable boundaries as easy as sending a text to a babysitter. The Clearspace Family membership is officially open for new applicants. clearspace.org/apply

been catching up with friends building with AI and recording some of our convos. first up @imranye he made a really good case for why Muse needs its own app. as an Instinct user, it got me thinking about the limits of a text only interface. (Muse fomo is insane rn...we still don’t have it in Canada!!)

Toronto company btw (aside, a cool way Canadians can help each other out is by trying each other's products)

Presh is one of my favorite founders and one of the most interesting people I know. Sat across from him at our studio for 2 years and watched him show up every day to build The Wellness Company

+1 on that. Not sure there are many missions more meaningful than helping people live longer. Tempo literally took me from 192lbs to 170 and helped increased my sleep from 5hrs to 6. 🫶 @preshdkumar and Dray

Today we’re announcing Ontology 1, our newest AI model. Perhaps surprisingly, it’s at least 2.7x more accurate than the world’s best ecommerce search engines, and handles queries that have never been possible before. We keep reaching for the edge of what it can do. We haven’t found it yet. Not only that, but it learns on its own with no retraining or fine-tuning. And it’s hallucination-free. It’s a successor architecture for search. Learn how we built it at onton.com/research/ontology-…, and check out the benchmarks at onton.com/research/ontology-…. Try it at onton.com/.

Every parent dreads the day their kid comes home from school and asks them this question: "So when am I getting a phone?" A few weeks ago at Humans in the Loop I shared what we are helping families do about it (membership application below)

I'm hesitating to shut down Parlay. I've tried almost everything to keep it alive except tweet about it, so here it goes... Every year, 100k students participate in class discussions on our platform. These are actual back and forth conversations between all students, not just the confident, extroverted ones. There is no obvious replacement for the class discussion experience we've created. With AI changing the way we think about learning, the case for discussion-based learning is even stronger than it was when we first started 9 years ago. (Discussion-based learning is a moat against AI generated work). Cumulatively, Parlay has hosted: - 200K class discussions in written and verbal formats - over 7M written ideas contributed - over 3M live speaking turns I'm radically open to paths to keep this going. If you think of an acquirer, strategic partner, or someone who can help carry this forward please DM/share. Thank you.💙

Gm, to truly play the infinite game, you must be thankful to everyone that’s helped or supported you along the way Many cases where people forget and believe it was them acting alone all along. This marks their plateau and demise.

500M+ wearables get sold every year and most of the health data just sits there doing nothing. I had a chat with @preshdkumar on how as a non-technical founder, he's able to build on top of it. you don't need to be technical to ship a health app anymore. you need taste, the right AI tools chained together, and the discipline to add craft where everyone else ships slop. 1. chain your tools. LLM for the script, voice cloner for voiceover, music gen for soundtrack, video editor to cut it. presh shipped a full launch video. 2. no-code → IDE is still a real path. build fast in a no-code tool, hit a wall, push to github, debug with an AI agent in your IDE. most non-technical founders are really overthinking this step. 3. prompts are spec docs. @preshdkumar got his landing page near one-shot because the prompt had layout, component names, interaction logic, file names. 4. craft is the moat, not speed. location-aware greetings on a landing page. breathwork animation after waitlist signup. custom copy for repeat visitors. each took minutes. 5. wearable data is just sitting there. cold plunge and sauna aren't even real activity types on apple watch. Presh registers them as "other" and brands them in the app. data exists. the UX on top is the product. 6. stop waiting on your engineer for pixel stuff. Presh ships screens now. didn't learn swift. the language just stopped mattering. 7. your AI tool is a cofounder that's always on. product thinking, storyboards, content, prompt refinement. not everything needs a meeting. this is the first episode in a @buildfutureto series of how builders are shipping with AI
