Funny that, bought this book in Nov 2021, and only started reading couple of weeks ago and finish just in time for the Ind vs SAF Test at a brand new venue - Guwahati :)

Just finished listening to @amitvarma 's episode with Tim Wigmore. Beautiful conversation. If I got it right, Amit Varma's questions were longer( also half self-answered) than Tim's answers. Probably due to the topic :)

Feeling a bit "soona" as @bhogleharsha is not tweeting much this season. May be have to get used to this?

@suketumehta Just finished reading your magnum opus on Bombay!! What a ride it was, the last 1 month as I got to know the finer details."Saheb" was terrific, "Black Collar Worker" make RGV's Satya look like a timid version of their lives. And then the City In Heat pays homage 1/2

@suketumehta to the lesser known lives. This book is a must read along with "Behind the Beautiful forevers". Hope a sequel is in the works. Thank you for writing this :) 2/2

@MrinalPande1 Loved the book by Vishnu Bhatt on his travels during 1857 mutiny. Unbelievalbe how he chanced upon meeting some historical characters and part of key events. Also the dairy captured the zeitgeist of 1850s very well. 1/2

@MrinalPande1 Vishnu Bhatt sounded to be a practical person even though being an orthodox brahmin. Would have been a nice liberal now :). Also Lucknow was Las Vegas of the 1850's ? :). Thank you for taking time and translating this book into english!!

@yooday Just completed or I would say devoured "Bullets Over Bombay". Having watched/read/seen all of RGV's films/interviews I could get hold of,this was a good experience.TBH the chapters 3 and 4 were a bit tough to get over but thats just my problem as I picked up this book 1/n

@yooday expecting RGV in every page. Having said that my fav chapters were 5,6 and to an extent 7. And then you gave me a lifetime supply of interview links. Huge thanks for that. 2 things I felt missing were RGV's influence on Telugu technicians post Shiva 2/n

@yooday And then since you were not aware as In TFI, Satya was the talk of town even during schooting stage. Late Dasari Narayan Rao run "Shivaranjani" ran a special edition detailing the progress with some excellent stills which I saved for many days 3/n

By chance I read, first the "Fallen Idols" and then after a month "Empireland". "Fallen Idols" was excellent in how it summarised history of the 12 felled statues, whereas "Empireland" goes deep into the Empire mindset in an unbiased way!! @alexvtunzelmann @Sathnam

Herbalife is the official partner of IPL. It just shows the desparation up above to help the Ayush and its beneficiaries. @theliverdoc had enough information shared on Herbalife's dangerous products and now this big endorsement by IPL @sambitbal @Ram_Guha @amitvarma @the_hindu

Absolutely brilliant novel by @SalmanRushdie !! Not a fan of novels, but historical fictions do help us understand the older times in an alternate way. @ssrajamouli can make wonders with this text - series or movie for the ages!!Now onto reading the terrific list of references :)

Just completed reading this audacious book by @suchitrav. So many poignant details, be it the loneliness of Sari Begum, many versions of Hilal clouded by the family's sadness, also some lovely friendships of Jamshed and Ali. Glad this is from an Indian, so no conspiracy here :)
