Goodbye, Uduaghan.
I am deeply saddened by the passing of my very dear elder brother, His Excellency, Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, former Governor of Delta State. In my interactions with him, he treated me like his junior brother.
I recall with fondness the cordial working relationship I enjoyed with him during our time in public service. We worked together as brothers in the collective effort to promote and advocate for the award of the contract for the Second Niger Bridge, recognising its importance to national integration, commerce, and the development of the South-East and South-South. I am pleased that the effort ultimately succeeded and that the Second Niger Bridge became a reality, serving as a symbol of the importance of collaboration in the pursuit of national development.
His passing is a loss to his family, the people of Delta State, and our nation. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, the government, and the people of Delta State. May God grant him eternal rest and comfort all who mourn him. -PO

To those still defending the Bold Reforms:
1 West African CFA franc (XOF) in Burkina Faso is approximately ₦2.28 to ₦2.40 Nigerian Naira, depending on daily market fluctuations.
If you have 100,000 CFA franc (XOF) right now, you have approximately ₦228,000. You use it for cross-border trade & travel with neighboring CFA-zone countries (especially Benin & Niger).
You need the CFA to buy cars from Cotonou.
Under Ibrahim Traore, Burkina Faso saw salary increases, a gold refinery, tractors & support for farmers & local factories. In Nigeria, they are selling GDP, foreign reserves, & bold reforms.
Numbers that only look good on paper. The reality remains that Nigerians are facing high fuel & food prices, & less purchasing power.
OBJ implemented reforms, but he didn’t kill you. Teachers bought cars under his watch. They called it “Gbemu Aremu” after his name.
Gbemu in this case, means “windfall” or cash.
The West African CFA franc even has a higher nominal exchange value than the orphaned naira. Pastor Adeboye’s prayer refused to work.

Just one of Christiane’s many powerful and memorable moments: refusing to give in to Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s demand that she wear a headscarf for an interview in NYC. She showed up; he didn’t.
Grateful to call @amanpour a colleague and friend.

My conversation with Peter Obi on the audacity of imagination in the new manifesto resonated even more with me in the emergency in Education. Given the poor consciousness in which officials see performance in tarring a few roads people can see compared to education that can bring about lasting wins I had to go to Spain 250 years ago, compared to small countries like Switzerland and The Netherlands to highlight why education matters, but even more importantly Deng Xiang Ping’s emphasis on education in 1978 and what it has done for China , to showcase the emphasis on education. Rapidly removing the shame of out of school children; improving Teacher prestige and remuneration and training teachers in crash programs were set as foundational. Upgrading low cost private schools in blighted neighborhoods which currently carry the bulk of the load of educating the poor into institutions that are better superintended would help a system that recognizes low skills output for a new emphasis curriculum that follows the Factor Endowments of geographies and consequent value chains.such that curriculum in states endowed with sesame seeds.
Dual education with apprenticeship schemes receive new emphasis as we shift from compensating certificates to paying value creators
Creating co-ordination systems for the three tiers of government and the private sector and parents will be key to educating for production and jobs as well as educating for character and for enlightenment.
Boiler room conversation for those who want to redeen.
