here you go bhai, a few from just the last two weeks: IMF raised India’s FY27 growth forecast to 7%, while it’s downgrading most energy importers. morungexpress.com/imf-raises… india pulled $351 BILLION in greenfield FDI from 2021 to 2025, more than double that of China. angelone.in/news/economy/ind… the navy launched its first indigenous 43,500-tonne fleet support ship. navalnews.com/naval-news/202… HAL delivered its 2,000th aero-engine and is scaling su-30 engine output from 30 to 50 a year. swarajyamag.com/defence/from… india added about 29 GW of solar in 7 months, and module manufacturing crossed 200 GW. solarquarter.com/2026/08/19/… the women’s hockey team beat china for its first ever asian games gold. outlookindia.com/sports/othe… onion prices are brutal, fair. but “no positive news” isn’t true.

BREAKING: Zelensky says he has been betrayed by Trump, that Elon Musk and Trump deliberately blocked Starlink in Ukraine overnight and that people have been killed as a result. "I am sure they knew what they did, absolutely. Because it was 1am at night, Starlink was blocked by SpaceX and the United States," he tells Piers Morgan. "This decision will bring a lot of human losses. Of course, people will die." He said interceptors that rely on Starlink did not work, and that "this is not the right side of history." Asked if he is angry with Musk, Zelensky said yes, calling it a big mistake. "Now Putin is laughing because, I mean this is for him, simple victory," he says on the Trump-Russia diesel deal.

Time to shut Ukraine’s internet access?
Zelensky has gone too far

Good to see the Modi government finally taking a firm stand against these misleading wannabe revolutionaries. Absolute circle-jerk behaviour, zero accountability, poor awareness, and blatant attempts to instigate violence with misinformation. Much-deserved FAFO moment.

Mr. Musk, yes, no billionaire should dictate a nation’s policy - Indian or American. India must welcome competition in satellite internet, from Indian and global providers, whoever offers the most practical and affordable last-mile solution for those in remote regions. In countries with lower per-capita incomes, satellite internet must be affordable too. High subscription fees and equipment costs risk putting it beyond the reach of ordinary households. Connectivity must bridge the digital divide, not create a new one. India knows our networks and spectrum are strategic infrastructure, not merely commercial assets. India’s national security safeguards are non-negotiable. Every country makes choices based on its own interests. Those in the West cannot preach free markets while practicing protectionism at home. USA imposed 100% tariffs on Chinese EVs to protect its domestic industry, just as India takes measures to protect its own domestic manufacturers. Both India and the US have restricted Huawei over security concerns. One cannot demand a level playing field from others only when it suits its own agenda. Indians will internally debate, question and address our strengths and shortcomings as a democratic country. Take BharatNet, India’s programme to bring broadband to village-level local bodies. We will question why, as the CAG’s 2026 audit report found, the programme is struggling to meet its original objectives. Why were only 33.2% of service-ready Gram Panchayats operational, despite ₹39,888 crore being spent? At the same time, we know to appreciate our telecom sector and regulations, which has made internet data among the world’s most affordable, bringing millions online. India is a democracy, not a colony. We welcome the world, but we, the Indian people, will decide our own future - not Western vested interests, their double standards or any billionaire - Indian or American.
Starlink is licensed in over 165 countries and has spent five years complying with every single law and requirement of the government of India, so why still no license? Is Ambani the real boss of India?

that one time when doing the right thing is to stay home. Blaming the system is easy.
To my generation, There comes a moment in the life of every generation when it must choose between comfort and conscience. For us, that moment has come again. In July, we stepped out onto the streets and a union minister resigned. We have done this before. In 1942, the British arrested the leaders before dawn, believing a movement dies when its leaders are taken. It did not. The young carried it forward and ended the Raj. Today, Modi-Shah's playbook is the same: close the roads, call it illegal, detain people before they speak. So our answer will be the same as the young of 1942. If any of us is stopped tomorrow, the one standing beside us carries it on. If that one is stopped, the next does. This movement belongs to every one of us. Years from now, someone will ask what we did on the 10th of October, when the trains stopped, the roads were sealed and a nation was told to stay silent. Let our answer be one we are proud to give. See you tomorrow. Jantar Mantar 2.0 continues.

As an engineer at Huddle01, I built many of Aditya's designs. He is an absolute legend at product, brand, and users. If you want branding or product design done well, work with him.
August was my last month at @huddle01com. For nearly six years I was the only product designer there, working on everything from fundraising pitch decks to mobile apps, dashboards, websites and the brand. What a blessing it was. Thank you to @ranjan3118, @Susmit_Lavania, and a team that was generous, smart and fun to build with. Now contracting with two companies, with room for one more contract project. If you're building something, I'd love to hear about it. p.s. My design work has its own home now. Small tools, design resources, and the odd, chaotic stuff, all at @pixelyokai.

Sometime in 2024, I fell in love with watches. The good, expensive kind. I was down a YouTube rabbit hole for something else and ended up in a watch-watching rabbit hole instead. Teddy Baldassarre. Kevin O'Leary. John Mayer's collection. I started making grand plans. But as with any decision in my life that involves spending a significant amount of money, I delayed the purchase as long as I could. Meanwhile I went deeper. My YouTube was only watch videos. My Insta explore page was only watch reels. I was in love. Then a friend I never thought would be into watches started posting about them. Then a couple of influencers who had never once mentioned watches, whose audiences couldn't care less about watches, started posting too. It didn't look paid. It looked like genuine love, which was the weird part. Then I saw the pattern. Everyone around me who had suddenly discovered watches had the same profile as me: same age, same circle, same assumed income, same life stage. We hadn't found a passion. We were a TG with wrists. Instantly, I fell out of love. I retraced my steps. I had been reading a lot about equities, finance, numbers. Enough for the algorithm to figure out I could be sold watches as an asset class disguised as good taste. And I'm fairly sure everyone around me got the same treatment. Here's how it works. First the recommendation engine gets you. Then performance marketing takes over. Then the feeds of your entire circle hit resonance, and FOMO finishes the job. True for recent watch lovers. True for recent coffee machine buyers. True for any trend where people who look like you all buy the same thing in the same year. Who benefits? The platforms. Nobody at Instagram sat in a room and decided I should like watches. The machine just optimises for watch time, and it's very convenient that the things that hold a man in his 30s' attention cost as much as a hatchback. More watch time, more brands who need to reach that interest, more ad money. The platform gets paid whether you buy the watch or not. The other winners are the early movers, the people who genuinely loved the craft before the rest of us got enrolled. In investing terms, they get to dump their interest on retail. They become the influencers, launch the product lines, land the brand deals. Teddy Baldassarre has a watch store now. And the asset class part? Most watches lose value the minute you wear them out of the store. Even the hyped ones had been sliding on the resale market since 2022. So in 2024, I wasn't getting in early. I was being recruited after the top. I was the retail. So these days I look out for the next planted interest and find the people who were there before the algorithm arrived, because capital will flow through them. Partner early and you can capitalise a little. Yes, I know. My response to discovering the scam is to ask for equity in it. Or at least profit from it. How do you protect yourself from being planted? Every time I feel a new want, I ask how I felt about it at 13 or 14. Did it make me go, "one day I'm going to get that"? For me that's cars. Something beautiful would pass me on the road and it would actually take my breath away. And sneakers. Just walking into a shoe store made me happy. Was 13-year-old me also brainwashed? Obviously. By car magazines and Nike ads. But a want that has survived all these years with nobody retargeting me has earned its place. So now I run every want past my 13-year-old self. Because my adult self is heavily compromised.

relish every ball that touches Kohli’s bat. It’s as precious as last days of roman empire. a decade from now, we’ll look back on this era with aching nostalgia before it inevitably fades into the history books.
