Yesterday #Tirupati city records its first best rainfall of the year with city AWS going upto 114 mm. This is just a start of season and we have rains upto December end. Overall in last four days, city got 211 mm which is massive to start (against october average of 280 mm).

#Visakhapatnam city recorded extremely heavy rainfall during last 24 hours with highest at Vizag (Pedda Waltair) 278 mm, very close to Gulab 292 mm (in 2021). Kakinada too recorded 152 mm. While Godavari, Eluru, NTR, Guntur, Konaseema, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram got Heavy rainfall.

Landfall of Deep Depression has started close to Bhogapuram and it will take upto 4 hours to complete. Till that time rains will be Moderate to Heavy across #Vizag and winds clocking 60-70 kmphr. Should be scary outside now ⚠️⚠️

Vizag rain rampage to continue for next 2 hours as the Deep Depression movement has stalled close to Srikakulam - Vizag coast with sluggish movement. Already many areas across #Vizag have crossed 150 mm and looks like it can go upto 200 mm+ soon. Stay safe ⚠️⚠️

Why naming of "Cyclone Arnab" is not Possible: The current ongoing Deep Depression has neared the land now and will complete its landfall by tonight close to Srikakulam. There are no chances it will be classified as a named Cyclone. I think we need to see if October hosts Arnab.
