People online usually throw whataboutism at you not because they care about their cause. They just want you to stop talking about what you care about and feel superior about *their cause.*
Anojan is a Tamil. Sinhala people fought for his release tirelessly.
"Tamils don't like Sinhalese" is a wrong statement. I am Tamil and I love my Sinhala brothers and sisters. I am not an exception. If you come to Sri Lanka, you will see how united we are actually on the ground.
As a Vijay fan, I am disappointed that @CMOTamilnadu did not intervene at least in a performative level. Anojan is also specifically a @actorvijay fan and @TVKVijayHQ used Sri Lanka in his politics extensively. So he cannot simply say, "this is not my problem. It's Sri Lanka's."
Every religion has a belief that theirs is the correct one and that everything else is a "fake God." In a rigorous interpretation, we cannot coexist peacefully in the current world. We should respect each other's religions. And don't try to enforce/impose your religion on others.
Sri Lanka showed unity in saving our brother. I wish we will retain this unity for the generations to come.🙏🏿

I was sad to see some anti-social folks doubling down to paint Anojan as a terrorist. He isn't.
Some Twitter interactions make me wonder. Am I talking to a person with a serious mental illness (I'm not using SMI [1] as an insult; I'm using it as medical terminology), or is this person a troll who is rage-baiting us?
It's hard to be sure online.

The amount of anti-Indian hatred in Twitter is way too much. Some of these appear to be regional problems with certain neighbor countries. Others look like US- and Canada- based rightwing political trolls. In any case, this is an unhealthy level of hate against a single country.
This is scary. Because it gives me the Gota-era déjà vu. Hope @anuradisanayake resolves this matter quickly before it gets out of control.
Anti-national elements are at play. We must save Anojan. This case should be studied carefully to ensure the racial harmony of Sri Lanka. 🙏

We need interfaith leaders to come together to resolve this matter as soon as possible and repatriate Anojan. He was trapped into this by mischievous trolls. He might be used as a piece in their larger, sinister anti-national agenda.
I added some non-sugar super sweetener into my cocktail. And added some super coloring into my curry to make it look spicier than it is.
Following the executive order, I am replacing “Artificial Intelligence (AI)” with “Super Intelligence (SI)” and “Artificial sweetener” with “Super sweetener” in my writing.
I will continue to replace “Artificial” with “Super” throughout my writing proactively.
