I used to pray for this also when I was young 😂😂.
I remember praying for MTN/GLO to find network on my dad's property for their mast installation back then because I heard they found network on this man's land, and he refused to accept any payment from the telecommunications company.
Instead, he asked for a signed written agreement that the company would pay for his children's university education abroad and provide them with well-paying jobs with benefits if they ever needed them. Best decision they ever made!
The statement “Nigerians pray for what their government is supposed to provide” made even more sense at that point. We have it bad as a nation if basic amenities is now a goal to make heaven💔, you might as well relocate to a working nation, would that be heaven to you?
I was somewhere last week and I heard this preacher say, “Ni orun ko si pe NEPA mu ina lo - In heaven there are no power interruptions” If I were to be an unbeliever, that would never make me want to be a believer.
“Nigerians genuinely don’t even know they deserve better.” The average Nigerian doesn't even know the meaning of a better life and working government 💔.
People are really living like animals in this country.
Inside this El-Nino, the least anyone can really ask for is stable electricity. In 2026!!!
Yet, na 15mins dem dey give us light here daily - for the past week, and God help you if you are dependent on this grid or you don’t have 100k to be spending on fuel weekly. Still, there is ongoing campaign for reelection!
From top to bottom, Presidency to Councilor, a pathologically useless lot - and the sad part is that most Nigerians genuinely don’t even know they deserve better.

It is the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders: male & female.
When I got laid off from Microsoft, I got into a company in Lagos that felt paying 600k naira a month was doing me a favour. I had to take the offer to keep body and soul together.
Was there for 6 months until I fell out with the MD and started looking out. That was when I started my training outfit but couldn't quite get traction.
Anyway, after leaving this NGO, I spent another 5 months in the wilderness, literally. Ate rejections almost every other day. Was living on the goodwill of friends and relations. Basically wondering what to get out of life.
An Antler rep came knocking at the time and was in the process of fast tracking my application to the Antler cohort at Kenya. Guess what? My passport had expired. Ran to go fast track my passport, after a few days emailed the partner but was told it was too late.
I remember laying in my room laughing hysterically, mulling to myself, "who I offend?"
Thankfully at that time, I applied to Andela and the process started for another 2 months. I got into Andela and my monthly salary was my previous annual salary. This trend continued in a subsequent company. Use am run one or two that year.
But the point is, while I was enjoying this new reality, I asked myself, "why did you worry all those times?" In hindsight, there was no reason to. I should have just chilled for 5 months, enjoyed myself.
But we are human and can only understand life in hindsight. As long as you believe this it will work out for you: EVERYTHING will turn out better than you expected, just stop worrying.

Blackouts is not what happens in Nigeria, light is what happens. We live in a blackout and get light from time to time.
Did a thing or two.

I learnt this right from my Junior Secondary school days that it's inappropriate to ask someone "how was your night" most especially if you aren't familiar with them. The explanations around it was odd. I think it was our Phonetics teacher who taught us.
I went to work at Microsoft office that year and just in the mood of exchanging pleasantries asked this lady, "how was your night?"
Bro, I got lectured by 3 ladies for good 30 minutes on why asking "how was your night?" was inappropriate.
Modern women dey kpai me. For normal greeting o. These days, I no kuku dey greet anybody again😭😂
