Got an email from a big brand that wants me to be the faced of a campaign they are doing. While I appreciate the good intention- instead of using flowery euphemisms to avoid saying disabled, and creating fake holidays, can they j make their stores accessible 🤷‍♀️

Had an amazing time speaking at the Latino Action Summit Legislative Assembly. Far too we see movements in a vacuum. But movement solidarity is how the ADA was passed and how future change for both the Latine and disabled community will be made.

I’ve had the privilege to speak at a fair share of conferences & universities abt disability rights, but so often they aren’t accessible. Kean University didn’t just talk the talk, they walked the walk when it came to accessibility. So grateful.

I turned 18 this week. I’ve been known in a community of activists as the “youth” activist, always being the young one, who needed her parents to sign off on any media. Making the change into adult hood means changing my identity as an activist. It’s scary & exciting.
