NIL context No names here but a Mid Major Freshman who averaged about 15 PPG on a 500 team, has been offered 550,000 by a Mid Level A10 team Take that information as fact and a bar for the amount of money flying around

Zags finish off Santa Clara 94-86. They dominated the paint with 66 points, shot 56% from the field. 21 from Ike. 20 from Grant-Foster. 21 from Adam Miller 👀 They regain sole possession of first place in the WCC.
The patience and poise from the Zags has been on display in these final minutes. Grant-Foster led the charge in the second half. Miller with some big moments. Ike holding it down. And they did this without Jalen Warley on the floor.

San Francisco continues to really struggle in the WCC. The Dons had already recorded two of their worst four performances of the season in the pair of games immediately before last night's contest vs. Oregon State. But things got even worse for San Francisco last night, as the Dons logged a season-worst game efficiency rating of -59.25 during a 90-63 home loss to the Beavers. San Francisco (14-13) fell 26 spots to #132 in our rankings following last night's performance. The Dons are 363rd in the country in our Momentum metric; they have now dropped three straight and five of their last six. They've also performed below their season norm on defense in seven of their last eight games. San Francisco has an opportunity to bounce back on Sunday when they play at #213 San Diego.

More on Braden Huff suffering a left knee injury that could potentially jeopardize the forward's chances of suiting up for No. 9 #Gonzaga again this season. Huff is tied for the team lead averaging 17.8 ppg and leads the country in total field goals. spokesman.com/stories/2026/j…

Essentially… the NCAA said we can’t do anything about it so 🤷‍♂️
I asked the NCAA whether players with NBA experience were eligible to play in college. This was the statement they provided to @TheFieldOf68.

Hi Ryan, Greg Kampe here, 48 years. You did the math, but your math is wrong, multiple times in my years I took the A student over the Midland student, and many other coaches did too, not all but many, we also spent time in their school. @SethOnHoops have a great day.
I’ve said this a million times: Name me a coach who ever recruited players because they got As in science and math. Let’s take it a step further: name me a coach who attended a player’s science or math class to scout them like they attend their games and practices. I’ll do the math for everyone: 0. The answer is literally zero. Do coaches care that players do well academically while in college? Sure - but let’s not get all warm and fuzzy about it. Coaches have a vested interest in players doing well academically: because of academic eligibility. Why else would every single rev share NIL agreement I’ve seen and negotiated on behalf of players condition payment on … academic eligibility to play? But, but isn’t rev share and NIL just about the value of a player’s name image and likeness, Ryan?? Yes, yes it is. In fact, every rev share and NIL specifically disclaims that the agreement is for athletic performance. So let’s stop pretending that college athletics is (or ever was) about academics. That’s a party line used by the NCAA that courts are finally and rightly seeing through, much like the NCAA-coined phrase “student-athlete.” As the Third Circuit recognized when it expressly refused to use the phrase “student-athlete” in its 2024 Opinion, the phrase is nothing more than “an NCAA marketing invention designed to ‘conjure the nobility of amateurism,’ assert ‘the precedence of scholarship over athletic[s],’ and ‘obfuscate the nature of the legal relationship at the heart of a growing commercial enterprise.’” To be sure, players are recruited to get Ws not As. Let’s not ever get it twisted.

$10MM for UC San Diego. Let’s not forget you were trying to convince them to join a conference WITHOUT Gonzaga, OSU, WSU, and GCU, and with the looming rumors about the departure of Saint Mary’s. Yeah, it was going to take some major 💰 to get the deal done.
How much did UC San Diego receive to join the West Coast Conference? Not one million. Not even two. And if you think it was surely not nine million? » » Go HIGHER! Story link w/my friends at NIL Wire. tinyurl.com/ucsdmoney
