It's been 365 days since I went all in on my business, and I've gained new friends on X...
So I think it's time for a re-introduction.
Fresh out of of college, I was working on big-budget productions in LA.
Over the next few years, I tried everything:
· Co-founder of a matcha company
· Worked 2 jobs in education
· Wrote 350+ articles online
· Freelance photography
Then in 2021, I landed at an 8-figure startup and became a marketing manager.
That's where everything clicked.
I learned the ins and outs of ads, sales funnels, and YouTube videos that actually sell info products.
Not just "content." Videos that convert viewers into customers.
Then, in August 2024:
→ I left to be a "glorified freelancer" with 2 contracts
→ Took as many sales calls as I could
→ Landed 4 video coaching clients
But there was one glaring problem...
None of my coaching clients were recurring.
If I wanted to make good, consistent money, I needed to change my approach:
→ So I pivoted to the recurring agency model
→ Built systems for client acquisition
→ Delegated editing & design
Now, Videos To Leads is the white-glove solution for coaches and agencies using YouTube to book sales calls...
And they just film for 2 hours per month.
Fast forward to today...
I've learned more about marketing, sales, fulfillment, and myself (if I'm being honest) than I have the last 5 years.
It's thanks to taking a leap of faith and creating opportunity for myself day in and day out.
The lesson?
Your "random" background isn't holding you back.
It's your competitive advantage.
And if you've followed in the last year, introduce yourself below so we can connect for real.
Thanks for following the journey.
Who thinks “quick question” is still a good cold email subject line?
Checked my spam today and got 5 of these in a row.
When you record a YouTube video, phrase the transition into each new point as a question.
Instant short form hook.
Your title makes a promise and your first few seconds have to keep it.
When they don’t, viewers feel misled and scroll away.
Create the promise, deliver it immediately, then overdeliver.
Consistent exposure builds trust.
When viewers repeatedly engage with your content, visit your landing page, and see your face, they become more aware and ready to take the next step...
Whatever that may be.
No one forces you to watch a YouTube video.
So the hook you use for a YouTube video shouldn't be the same as one you use on Instagram.
Use what I call the "5P YouTube Framework."
A simple routine for YouTube ideas:
1. Pick a time
2. Write 10 ideas
3. Don't worry if any are bad
4. Repeat daily
The act of showing up and forcing your brain to think of titles will teach it what works (and what doesn't).
LinkedIn is a top video platform, rivaling YouTube. Your audience, especially CEOs and founders, watches full videos there. Repurpose your YouTube content—videos, short clips, or written posts from transcripts—to maximize reach. #LinkedInMarketing #VideoStrategy
YouTube is dropping Video A/B testing.
You'll get to test different versions of your:
· hook
· body
· outro
· CTA
What do you think about this?
First video up in over 2 months.
Biggest lesson from posting 25 videos:
It’s less about content strategy and more about doing cool stuff.
That’s what the latest video is about.
If you need an hour to convince someone to buy from you, then something went wrong before they joined the sales call.
Your prospects like being pushed toward what they want as much as they like being pulled away from what they don't want.
You start a YouTube channel.
Post some videos.
Then quit. I see this all the time.
It's not because you hate filming.
Your entire YouTube system is broken.
Here's how to fix it: youtu.be/KWFjZ-Fhzsg
