Have you ever seen a freelancers meetup celebrate Mango Day with a strong WordPress community presence? 📷
On July 31, 2026, F3 Pakistan, in collaboration with Career Institute Faisalabad, organized its 5th Freelancers Meetup in Faisalabad, this time around Pakistan’s Mango Day.
More than 60 people participated, including WordPress professionals, students, freelancers, business owners, and members of the wider Faisalabad community.
We were also honored to welcome Rana Nasir Javed, Chief Traffic Officer Faisalabad; Mian Akmal Sahib, Senior Superintendent of Police RIB Faisalabad; and Jahangir Ashraf, a journalist from City41 News Channel, as Guests of Honor.
Quilim Restaurant joined us as the official food partner and arranged the mango-themed food.
WPKitchen served as Lead Organizer, Media Partner, and Sponsorship Coordinator.
Although this was a broader freelancers meetup rather than an official WordPress meetup, many members of our local WordPress community participated. It was another nice opportunity to bring freelancers, WordPress professionals, students, and local leaders together.
A community meetup with conversations, connections, and plenty of mangoes.

A legend was born today. The legend, Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
The birth of music itself.
I love to listen his music while working, so I believe its right time to share this little part of my workday.
I'm also curious: Do you listen to music while working? If yes, what do you listen to?

Lunch Giveaway #21 - Delivered
--
Treat Time #21 was a little different from our usual giveaways.
Sponsored by Rita Robles Loaiza, this edition had Alina Kakshapati select Hasina Hassan from Gilgit-Baltistan as the winner. Since Foodpanda does not operate in her area, Hasina kindly chose to share her lunch with Faizan Ashraf from Faisalabad, and we successfully delivered it to him.
This experience reminded us that we need to keep our process flexible to make sure everyone can take part, regardless of their location.
Foodpanda vouchers will remain our first choice wherever the service is available. In areas where Foodpanda does not operate, we may provide the lunch amount directly so the winner can buy lunch locally and share a photo and the invoice with us for transparency.
Winners can also choose to share or forward their lunch to another community member, making the experience even more meaningful.
Treat Time is more than a lunch giveaway. It’s about sharing food, supporting freelancers, and bringing the WordPress community closer together. ❤️

1996 → 2026 🏆
In 1996, I was proud to receive a first-position award at Deewan Foundation School.
Today, I'm proud to contribute to WordPress, support open-source contributors, and help freelancers through WPKitchen.
Success means something different to me today. It's not just about personal achievements, but also about helping others grow.
Still learning. Still contributing. Still building. ❤️

After the US crackdown on Indian IT companies accused of gaming its visa and immigration system, many people have asked what this means for Pakistan.
First, understand the scale: India’s software services exports exceed $220 billion a year — roughly seven times Pakistan’s entire goods exports across all sectors combined.
The policy reforms I introduced as Federal Minister a few years ago helped grow Pakistan’s IT exports from around $2.5 billion to over $4.5 billion. That is meaningful progress, but still minuscule compared with our potential.
The most important thing we must fix is our higher education system. Business models built around low-skilled tasks on platforms like Upwork are especially vulnerable to AI automation. We cannot build our economic future on work that AI can increasingly do faster and cheaper.
We need universities that produce an AI-ready workforce, high-tech startups, and solution architects capable of designing and deploying enterprise AI workflows. We need businesses building the platforms and datasets used to train AI models, and data centers capable of becoming part of the global compute infrastructure.
That requires a serious overhaul of what we teach, how we train our graduates, and how we connect research with industry.
Unless we build these capabilities now, we will once again be left behind — watching another technological revolution create wealth elsewhere while we debate its impact on Pakistan.
I'm interviewing Katie Keith. Katie has been leading Barn2 Plugins since 2009 and is a high-profile, award-winning figure in the WordPress community. She has grown Barn2 from nothing into a successful seven-figure global business, with a team of 14 people working across the world.
Do you have any thoughtful questions for her that we can include in our interview?
