NEW - Canada's great population swap: In 10 years, the Liberals added close to 2 million people from India. Across Permanent Residents, students, and temporary foreign workers, India is #1 in every stream. At the same time, 40% of our highest earners quietly moved to the United States. The Bank of Canada says those who left, account for 75% of the entire Canada-US income gap. Net emigration just hit a 50 year high. We're adding people at record speed at the bottom and losing the ones who power the economy off the top Conspiracy theorists were right yet again: It's a managed decline.

Canada's spending on housing and healthcare for asylum claimants is OUT OF CONTROL‼️ $3.9m a day, and that's just the federal government's cost. > Total cost: up 7.4× in six years. > Last year alone: up 67%, from $850M to $1.42B. > Health care: up 5.5×, from $162M to $897M, and 52% in a single year The PBO projects the health program alone will pass $1.5 billion a year by 2029-30. It doesn't account for the social assistance, schooling, healthcare and legal aid that provinces pay for. Oh and it doesn't account for the $1B+ taxpayers paid for their hotels.

Remember: War is coming to every corner in the West. It might take 5 days, 5 years, or 50 years but it’s coming. The West has committed the greatest self-immolation in human history. Save this post.

Mark Carney keeps telling us we live in a “dangerous and divided world” without acknowledging how we got here. Because if he did, fingers would be pointing right back at him. Leading the Bank of Canada under Harper. Leading the Bank of England. Advising Trudeau. Working in the very circles that helped shape the world he is now warning us about. You would think there would be a little humility. Perhaps even some embarrassment before asking citizens to trust him with more power. If these “leaders” are so capable, why do their warnings keep getting darker while our lives get harder? Where are the results of all this supposed expertise? We are told to trust their leadership, yet somehow never to question where it has brought us. I have come to the harsh conclusion that we keep expecting better outcomes from people whose priority is protecting their own positions and interests. Helping citizens become strong, free and prosperous is clearly not the priority. Instead, we are left paying more for public services that fail to serve the public, while those responsible expect our trust and treat us as the problem when we question their failures. So what can you do in this “dangerous and divided world”? Stop assuming the government will take care of you. Judge its competence by its record, not its promises. Take care of yourself, your family and your community. Ask questions. Think independently. Do not hand over your judgment simply because someone in power tells you to be afraid. Look around and ask yourself. Are our streets safer? Are hospital waits shorter? Are classrooms less crowded? Is housing more affordable? Are groceries cheaper? Are you keeping more of what you earn? Are repeat violent offenders being kept off our streets? Is public money being spent responsibly? Are those in power answering your questions or dismissing you for asking? Then ask yourself whether you want more of the same and why those failing us every day should be trusted with even more power.

Thanks @RobShaw_BC. This is unacceptable on so many levels…..Secret land deals and a further gut punch to the already reeling forestry companies in BC, and an NDP arrogance which seems to think these deals, without disclosing to the broader electorate, are ok!? They are not. It’s got to stop. cdn.jwplayer.com/previews/Gd…

Here’s what your taxes bought. $13.36 billion in international aid in 2024-25. That’s from Global Affairs Canada’s own report. $1.1 billion on hotel rooms for asylum claimants since 2017, according to IRCC. Another $1.5 billion sent to provinces and cities to house them. Not one of those lines was on a ballot. All of it came off your paycheque.

"Ottawa should be mindful of the risks of deepening trade with China because Beijing could leverage it for economic coercion in the future, says a prominent Tokyo-based academic on a Canadian speaking tour, sponsored by Japan’s government. Kazuto Suzuki is a professor at the University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Public Policy and a member of the government’s Council for Japan’s Growth Strategy, which aims to strengthen economic security. “If you increase dependency on China, be careful, be aware of the risks that China could use that as a weapon against you,” Prof. Suzuki said in an interview Thursday. He was speaking of Prime Minister Mark Carney’s efforts to attract Chinese investment and boost trade with Beijing. Mr. Carney and Chinese President Xi Jinping are expected to meet next month at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Shenzhen and talk about next steps in a “strategic partnership” struck this year." @stevenchase @KS_1013

Mississippi is now richer than us. The World Bank puts Canada’s 2025 GDP per person at US$55,698. Mississippi, the poorest state in America, sits around US$55,877. That puts us below all 50 states. In 2014 the New York Times found Canada’s middle class had caught up to America’s. A year later the liberals took over. Ten years of liberals. Fifty states ahead of us.

Landowners in Richmond BC were blindsided by the Cowichan ruling. How could BC's top court strip private property protections? After slogging through 12 years of court submissions, testimony and rulings, the answer emerged, but it's not good news for British Columbians. Secret NDP plan to give Crown Land to FNs and terminate forest tenures without compensation would devastate the forest industry in B.C. Stakeholders informed only under NDAs.
Replying to @RobShaw_BC
The @Dave_Eby cabinet approved the plan in July, put stakeholders under NDAs 12 days before early elxn call, then did not include any of the details for the public in its Foresty elxn plan to voters Wednesday. Docs show a re-elected gov is prepping legislation for spring 2027.

Interesting report from Bob Mackin on the story Stew Bell broke— Will any BC election reporters query Premier Eby? @bobmackin thebreaker.news/ “In his second month on the job, B.C. Premier David Eby sent three members of his NDP caucus to a Lunar New Year banquet in a Richmond casino where they sat across from a People’s Liberation Army veteran now subject to deportation proceedings.” “In 2023, theBreaker reported on Yuan’s attendance at the Canadian Community Service Association’s “Year of the Tiger” Lunar New Year banquet at River Rock Casino Resort, where Yuan had been a whale gambler. NDP’s then-Minister of Municipal Affairs Anne Kang and Richmond South Centre MLA Henry Yao, who both hail from Taiwan, and former Minister of State for Trade George Chow were seated across from Yuan at the VIP table. Yuan spoke to the crowd in Mandarin from the stage about “our second home, Canada” being inclusive, stable and progressive. “As ethnic minorities, we must also actively participate in and discuss state affairs, we must obey the law and pay taxes according to regulations,” Yuan said, according to a translation. The former Port Coquitlam gun store owner met Justin Trudeau and made donations to the Liberal Party. Liberal Party returns to Elections Canada show three donations received July 6, 2016 from Yuan, totalling $4,299.30. He directed one of those to the Papineau Federal Liberal Association, the re-election fund in Trudeau’s home riding in Montreal.”

"if these largely anonymous participants are talking about the future of Canada and its resources in India, the average Canadian should be in on this conversation and get a vote on whether they want the country’s population to double."
Read Joe's column and decide if Canadians are owed an explanation by the Carney government. Is this what all the Mark Carney travel and international trade talk may be leading to? Toronto Sun torontosun.com/news/national…

Ottawa imported more than three million low-skilled labourers into the country basically overnight, and has no practical plan to remove them. It's a forced error that made basically everything worse and whose consequences will be with us for decades. And there are Toronto Star writers who are so privileged and out-of-touch they can afford not to notice.

"Many well-to-do British Columbians have been quietly winning $10-a-day spots for years, while others at the poverty line suffer on wait lists. It’s how the system was (stupidly) designed," says @RobShaw_BC. "That successive NDP administrations defended this ridiculousness, and refused to change it, is the real scandal." #bcpoli
The @bcndp's failure to create the universal $10 a day child care system it promised in 3 elections over 8 years has caught up to it this election in a sharp, pointed way. My latest in @BIVnews: biv.com/news/commentary/rob-…

If you gave every municipal police department in Canada the ability to permanently detain 100 of their worst offenders, we would enter a golden age so dramatic that for years afterwards we would demarcate the current era by this one action.
This prolific offender also used to masturbate in the children's area of Harbourfront Library in downtown Nanaimo wearing women's lingerie. Staff had to deal with it. He is a major problem and risk.
