After seeing what Jake Lucky had posted Cross had said last night, I had some thoughts I felt were worth sharing. With great power/influence comes great responsibility. I'm hopeful folks can be more vigilant in how their words impact others, from a Dad Gamer ❤️

ONCE AGAIN TDM in its full form might be special but for its first experiment DO NOT OVERTHINK IT Just see how it’s realized by locking off a currently existing POI and throw 6v6 in there, see how that works out and iterate from there.
EXTREME HOT TAKE if marathon can nail that tdm mode there is a huge population of halo fans who will be waiting years for that next multiplayer and would most likely love the gunplay and gameplay loop of marathon in a respawn mode

Monument of Triumph development with Tyson was bittersweet, but I will likely look fondly on those times for the remainder of my career in gaming. Along with quite a few other leads and teams, we spent a lot of time asking "what is the best we can do by players with our end of service update? What bugs can we smash, QOL features can we ship, long time feedback items can we hit with the hyper compressed timeline we have left?" He was bullish. He pushed hard to serve players in every which way we could in those final updates. He was fully dedicated to making MoT feel special, and empowered teams to do what they also felt was best for you. Internally, he fully acknowledged the rough spot we were in under his time as Game Director, took accountability often. Know comms credited to him were sparce, but he had a hand in most every blog or beat speaking to the state of the game or what changes were coming. Always appreciated when he gave clear feedback of "This doesn't sound human, players will call bullshit. Let's just be real and speak the truth." Not asking for players to brush the rough times under the rug. Just some thoughts from my time. Will forever have respect for him, and honestly learned a ton when having the pleasure of working closely with him.

You all set the bar and are so inspiring I get teased a bit that I’m not a sweary person but I’d be lying if the recent past hasn’t been hell There’s a narrow path to claw out of that fucking hell and going to fight every day to do it

The version of the Destiny community I choose to remember is the Destiny community that raised over $10 million for charities, the version we see of it now, hostile, aggressive, hateful, isn’t the Destiny community I know, it’s a shadow of what once was, it’s sad to see.

Absolute class act here BTW So important to try and see the best in people, even when they're angry and hurt and lash out. Doing those things is not okay, but it doesn't make them fundamentally bad people. Forgiveness from both sides is incredibly important, esp right now

So, bit of a desperate plea here, my pc is unsalvageable and I really need it for my art and career, i'm fresh out of uni and can't get work without it. I’ll have destiny and marathon comms opening very soon, but if you’re able I also have a ko-fi for donations if at all possible

something from Bungies reviving destiny announcement that i noticed and gives me a lot of hope, is the mention of reducing the layers between decisions to development. we’ve heard too many stories of devs practically fighting for highly requested features

Here is what @Aztecross says to the Marathon community after today’s news. I don’t personally hold it against him, just like many other people, he was angry, emotional & wanted to get it out someway, my hope is now everybody has something to play, you give it another chance :)

Too early. After promising roadmaps and not being able to deliver, don't want to make a commitment before it's good and ready. Don't want to undermine the trust that needs to be rebuilt. We are committed to giving comms updates - their form has yet to be defined just yet.
