sounds like you @VP Just wait until @realDonaldTrump hears the story of James Donald Bowman. Who came home from school one day and said that now he wants to be James David Hamel. Then he started wearing eye shadow and said he'd rather be called JD Vance. These things happen. @ProjectLincoln @MeidasTouch
Trump: "We have 5 states where your child goes off to school as Tim and comes back as Tammy 3 or 4 days later. It's true. And teachers make a decision. 'Goodbye Timmy I love you so much, I'll see you later.' And you say, 'Where's my son? My son is in the hospital.' Can you imagine? They don't even need approval"

What do you think @ProFootballTalk @CSimmsQB @gmfb @richeisen "Feelin it" @nflcommish really?
Interesting that @nfl has an ad touting Trump immigration policies on their X post, which says "feelin' it." So is Elon just able to put any ol ad on my posts?

“Elon Musk approached Donald Trump with the idea of slowing down Starlink in Ukraine, The Telegraph can reveal. The billionaire tech entrepreneur approached the US president with the proposal to introduce speed limits on the system, which hampered Ukraine’s drone defences, according to four sources familiar with the discussions. One of the sources said Mr Trump “agreed” with Mr Musk’s suggestion, paving the way for the Pentagon to execute the slowdown on Starshield, the military-grade version of the satellite communications system.

If you would like to witness genius, watch and listen to this.
Being an exceptionally talented musician is one thing. But to stand before such high-caliber fellow musicians, a large audience, and cameras—all while remaining composed, communicating skillfully and effectively, showing genuine enjoyment, and staying focused on the creative process—that is what truly amazes me.

This is from @Reuters. If it’s proven legally, it’s a literal war crime committed from within the White House, since it’d represent partaking in an attack aimed solely at civilian casualties. … We’re way past any of this being about politics or parties or preferred sides.
NEW: The order to limit a satellite system used by Ukraine for battlefield communications and drone operations came from inside the White House, according to two US officials and a Western official briefed on the matter.

Derek Sivers had it right: “Mastery is the best goal because the rich can’t buy it, the impatient can’t rush it, the privileged can’t inherit it, and nobody can steal it. You can only earn it through hard work. Mastery is the ultimate status.”

Trump: I travel with doctors. If people get sick in the audience, they leave them alone. You know what they call them? Collateral damage. If that person right over there, he looks like shit actually. He looks like he's ready to have a heart attack. If he did, my doctors would leave him alone.

Ukraine spent 5 years developing their defense from Russia around Starlink, and last night, Musk cut it off to help Putin. This morning, the halls of power in Europe need to understand that Musk, Trump and Putin aim for total dissolution of democracy, and the primary target is Europe.

The United States of America has many foreign policy sins, born out of arrogance and corruption. We are now witnessing perhaps the worst American sin of all: The USA is now, we can say firmly, actively attempting to crush the Ukrainian people. Ukraine was winning months ago. Putin begged Trump for help. Trump, aided by Elon and others including China, is now boosting the Russian War Machine. With intel and Starlink switchoffs, Ukrainians are hindered not only offensively but are now struggling with air defense. The White House is violating the will of Congress, the integrity of the American people, and rights of free people.

This is insane. Private equity owning municipal utilities? How in the world?
My uncle noticed his monthly water and sewage bill jumped from $85 to $290 over the last six months, even though his family didn't fill a single pool or leak a gallon. He called the municipal water board to report what he assumed was a meter error. The clerk explained that the city sold the local water treatment facility and underground main grid to an infrastructure equity fund last year to cover municipal budget deficits. When my uncle asked why that tripled his rate, she told him: "The private operator added a quarterly 'grid modernization surcharge' and an 'infrastructure maintenance access fee' to every residential account." Nothing about the pipes, pressure, or water quality improved. Private equity isn't just buying houses and daycares anymore. They are acquiring local utility monopolies so they can bill working families a mandatory tax on drinking water and flushing the toilet.

By the time you finished high school, you had already used up about 93% of the in-person time you will ever spend with your parents. The math is simple and it hurts. For 18 years you see them nearly every day. Then you move out, and it drops to a visit every month or two. If your parents live into their 80s, everything after graduation adds up to a few hundred days total. Childhood alone was over 6,000. His mom's line explains the other half. 84 years felt short to her for the same reason 54 feels short to him. Your brain doesn't measure time with a clock. It measures it in memories, and it mostly records what's new. At 8, everything is new, so one summer feels endless. At 54, the days repeat, whole years get compressed into a few snapshots, and a decade passes in what feels like eighteen months. There's a proportional effect stacked on top. A year at age 5 is 20% of your entire life. A year at 54 is under 2%. The denominator grows every birthday, so the ride keeps accelerating no matter what you do. The clock is fixed. Memory density is the only lever you actually hold, and most of it comes down to who gets your ordinary days.
Ben Affleck lost both of his parents this year. He says he learned “a great lesson” from how his mother navigated the end of her life: “One of the things you grapple with at my age when parents die is there’s a comfort and awareness in knowing this is how it’s supposed to go. When I go, it will be hard for my children, but none of us want it any other way. My mom said to me at the end of her life, ‘God, I thought 84 years would seem longer.’ And I thought, ‘I bet, because I thought 54 would seem longer.’ That’s what we get. We get this much time, and it’s a reminder not to put anything off or fix it later. It’s more about how you show up every day with everybody else.” Read the full cover story: wp.me/pc8uak-1lHTZ5
