People genuinely believed Angel Reese didn’t belong on a WNBA roster
But Angel Reese’s play has done the talking for her
She’s averaging 21.7 points, 13.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks in the finals while shooting 56% FG
Superstar

Acquiring what looks to be a superstar via the expansion draft is what every new franchise dreams about
Azzi Fudd has 15 stocks (steals + blocks) in just here last 3 games
And with averages of 1.6 steals and 1.1 blocks per game, Azzi is one of just SEVEN players averaging 1.0 or more of each per game
Azzi is already an elite two-way player

Tap in and let me know. Let’s talk hoops before the draft ⤵️
I’ve said it before, but Azzi Fudd’s elite defense and two-way ability is what made her a top tier draft prospect
As a starter, she is averaging 1.7 steals & 1.3 blocks per game, showcasing elite defensive playmaking
And her on-ball defense is very good
Azzi Fudd has always been a talented shotmaker, but buying into defense and showcasing elite defensive talent is what has shored up her #1 overall pick case
Her hands, IQ, and awareness both on- and off-ball speak to her being a defensive weapon long-term
Azzi Fudd is a rookie, but she isn’t new to playing in big moments thanks to her experience at UConn
Today, she had 5 points in the clutch that helped the Wings close the gap
Angel Reese’s athleticism and comfortability with the ball in her hands really pops in the open court
And she’s gotten much better at keeping the ball high on her lay ups and using her body to create space to avoid getting blocked
Angel Reese is now THE fastest player in WNBA history to reach 1,000 career rebounds
She did it in 79 games, which is 10 games less than the previous record holder, Tina Charles
We are witnesses the greatest rebounder of all time
One of the cleanest ankle breakers I’ve seen in hoops in YEARS
Absolutely NASTY behind the back dribble by Kelsey Mitchell, stopping on a dime and sending her defender flying
It’s like you can see Georgia Amoore breaking out of her slump and shaking off her rust
She’s so, so dynamic when she’s playing her game and using her downhill burst to get into the paint and to the rim
Lauren Betts isn’t just 6’7”, but she’s also elite at staying vertical defensively
Just elite defensive awareness and discipline, especially for a rookie
