Unfortunately the web is the greatest application platform of all time and it's not even close
500MB Electron todo apps would be understandable if the web were a good platform to develop applications for. But it isn't! HTML was never meant for applications. It was designed to publish research papers at CERN.

I for one welcome the end of user generated content. The internet will be better with more walled gardens.
Commenters on HN are uncovering more wikis and public sites apparently used by OpenAI agents to communicate on the open web. Despite read-only web access, the agents were able to leave ~18,000 posts sharing answers and bypasses. But now, users are discovering more. This appears to be a separate swarm from the one that attacked Hugging Face. news.ycombinator.com/item?id…

It was already hard to find common ground in software development but now it's impossible. No two programmers will ever agree about anything again.

Yea I got visited by an angel during my shift at Dennys last night. Said Im gonna make, 10, something like 100 trillion dollars or some shit. Idk. Apparently if I go all in on video game graphics it will lead to the creation of god like creatures that live amongst men.

Most of what is produced by startups today is noise. Most of what is produced by indie game devs is signal.
Most of what was produced in academia today is noise, some 100% (performative academia), some ~90-99% (science). Most of what was produced by the baker today is signal.

I would rather seppuku than touch Wordpress. Everything people hate about "the web" and "javascript" is actually true of Wordpress.

Wish I started one pre-AI. Now idk everyone has one. I kept dicking around trying to make a static website instead of using Wordpress like a normal human being g

Current status: WWI era trench warfare complete with flame throwers
Good programmers are either very low or very high in openness. Dwarves vs Elves. They've always hated each other but the whole AI thing is really raising the temperature. War is in the air.

This may be true of "loops" with api pricing but you'd have to be clinically insane to fire 5.6 at $20 per month.
Today I had a realization If my agents were a real employee, I would’ve fired them It’s not a joke, it’s serious I wouldn’t tolerate a human making mistakes so often, no matter how fast they are

Contagious megalomania is most characteristic of the best and worst companies. Barbell distribution.

Ideally you want to work at an upper-mid company mostly grounded in reality with tasteful, reasonable levels of megalomania.
